The Philadelphia Eagles will claim the #1 seed for the NFC playoffs and a first-round bye if they win or tie their final game of the regular season against the New York Giants. The Eagles have looked destined to head the playoff rankings in their conference for some time after making an 8-0 start and then reaching 13-1, but getting over the line has proved more tricky and they have lost their last 2 games against the Cowboys and Saints to fall to 13-3.
The Giants (9-6-1) will also be in the playoffs, having clinched a wild-card spot and may not be that interested in playing spoiler to the Eagles given they will have a big game next weekend. NFL New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles expert predictions
The Philadelphia Eagles will host the New York Giants in Week 18 with a chance to lock up the top seed and a bye in the first round of the playoffs, and nobody seems to think the Giants will put up much of a fight. Oddsmakers have them as massive 16-point underdogs, since the Giants have their playoff spot locked up and don’t really have much to play for. New York head coach Brian Daboll is playing a bit coy, but nobody expect him to risk his starters too much.
The Giants made an impressive 6-1 start to the season, but they are just 2-4-1 over their last 7 games.
The Eagles have not been at 100% over their last 2 games while starting QB Jalen Hurts was injured, but they looked a powerful force for much of the season and crushed the Giants 48-22 when the teams met at MetLife Stadium.

New York Giants vs Philadelphia Eagles expert picks
We have two great NFL picks for the game between the Titans and Jaguars.
Giants vs Eagles point spread pick: Giants +16.5 (-105)
The Giants are getting a huge start on the spread for this game and I think this number is a touch high. Davis Webb is going to start at quarterback for the Giants, and it’s not like New York’s success this season has been because Daniel Jones has been lighting it up. The former third-round pick has never had a chance to start a regular-season game, but he has looked really good at times during the preseason. And I’m just not sure that the Eagles are going to look sharp enough to cover a 16-point spread.
Jalen Hurts is making his return from a shoulder injury to get some action in before the playoffs, but he hasn’t played in a while and could be a little rusty. And there is very little margin for error when you’re laying this many points in the NFL. Philly has now lost back-to-back games, and that can’t all be blamed on Gardner Minshew. The Eagles embarrassed the Giants on their home field when these teams played earlier this season and New York certainly hasn’t forgotten that, so don’t expect them to roll over just because their playoff seed is locked up.

Giants vs Eagles over/under totals pick: Under 42.5 (-110)
There are reasons to believe both defenses will have some success, so I am going under the total. Jalen Hurts is returning from a shoulder injury and I expect him to be pretty rusty. New York’s defense has been playing really well recently, and they’ve given up 12 or fewer points in 2 of their past 3 games. The Eagles completely shut down the Giants’ offense when these teams first played this season, and that was in a game when New York was playing its starters.
They held Daniel Jones to just 169 yards while sacking him 4 times, so they should be able to make life pretty tough for Davis Webb. Webb has never thrown a regular-season pass, and now he’s going on the road to face an Eagles team that is looking to lock up the top seed in the conference. Hurts didn’t do all that much in the first game against the Giants either, and he got sacked 4 times as well.
