The 2022 college football season is underway and Saturday provides us with our first full slate of games of the season. A big non-conference battle will take place on Saturday afternoon when the Oregon Ducks travel to Atlanta for a neutral site matchup against the defending-champion Georgia Bulldogs. This contest kicks off at 3:30 pm ET and will be televised on ABC.
Below is our same game parlay for the matchup, and also be sure to check out all of our NCAAF previews.
Brock Bowers 2+ touchdowns (+230)
Byron Cardwell Over 46.5 rushing yards (-113)
Georgia-Georgia double result (-360)
Parlay odds: +694
Brock Bowers 2+ Touchdowns (+230)
This is by far the riskiest leg of the same game parlay, but I see value in the odds set for this prop. Last season during Georgia’s title run, Brock Bowers scored 2 touchdowns in 5 of the Bulldogs’ 11 regular season games (45.5%). At +230 odds, bookmakers are implying that Bowers has just a 30.3% chance to score 2+ touchdowns. With pass catchers such as James Cook and George Pickens now in the NFL, Bowers should be Stetson Bennett’s favorite red zone target – especially in Week 1 while the Bulldogs incorporate new pieces into the offense.
Byron Cardwell over 46.5 rushing yards (-113)
Travis Dye and CJ Verdell are no longer with the Oregon program, so Byron Cardwell should be the primary ball carrier early in the season. Cardwell will have the privilege of running behind one of the best offensive lines in football, and should have a steady workload while the Ducks incorporate a new head coach, offensive coordinator, and quarterback. The Georgia defense will be loaded once again, but there is ample change across the front 7. The inexperience against a loaded offensive line could lead to some open running lanes for Cardwell.
Georgia – Georgia double result (-360)
Oregon projects to be a top 25 team this season, and should be able to keep this game close throughout – especially because its coach used to be the defensive coordinator for the Bulldogs. However, Georgia has more weapons and will have more of a “home field advantage” being that this neutral site game is being played in Atlanta. If this game was being played later in the season, Oregon may have a better shot at the win – but I like the Bulldogs in both halves against the Ducks.
