Like most Lithuanians, I started watching basketball from the age of six. I'm based out in London and played basketball at the University of Lincoln here in the UK. I had always had an interest in the NBA but things really took off in the summer of 2010. That year Linas Kleiza led Lithuania to 3rd place at the World Championships and signed with the Toronto Raptors to replace the departing Chris Bosh. I've been a Raptors fan since that day and I've not missed a game since. I've been handicapping games for more than a decade, specializing in player props. Following the trade to acquire CJ McCollum, the New Orleans Pelicans have established themselves well in the Western Conference play-in position. They are now 2 games ahead of 11th place but they should find themselves tested on the road against the Memphis Grizzlies tonight. The hosts have taken full advantage of the recent slide by the Golden State Warriors and have moved up to 2nd place in the West.

You can find our full game previews here. But for now let’s check out mu Pelicans and Grizzlies same game parlay.

Jonas Valanciunas to record 12+ rebounds (+162)

Steven Adams to record 12+ rebounds (+162)

Herbert Jones over 9.5 points (-114)

Parlay odds: +1123

Jonas Valanciunas to record 12+ rebounds (+162)

While Jonas Valanciunas has not been terrific rebounding the ball against the Grizzlies this season, I expect that to change tonight. On paper Steven Adams is a great matchup for the Lithuanian. Adams does not shoot from deep and looks to constantly crash the boards, allowing the Pelicans center to stay in the paint. Valanciunas has also been successful of rebounding on the road this season, averaging 12 boards per game on his travels. He has been able to hit this line in 4 of his last 6 games and looks set to be a menace on the glass once more here tonight. That should be especially true against an opponent that will allow him to close to the rim throughout the game.

Steven Adams to record 12+ rebounds (+162)

What was said I have said above applies vice versa for Adams too. While Valanciunas does have the ability to hit shots from deep, he is not a volume shooter from beyond the arc. The Pelicans center has not knocked down multiple 3-pointers since the 17th of January and could be left alone on the perimeter tonight. He also has a fairly slow release which would allow Adams to drop off into the paint even when Valanciunas is on the 3-point line. That should put the Grizzlies center in a prime position to have a big rebounding night. Adams has been a machine rebounding the ball over the last 10 games, grabbing 11.7 per night over that stretch. Just like Valanciunas he has grabbed 12 or more boards in 4 of his last 6 games.

Herbert Jones over 9.5 points (-114)

Herbert Jones should provide the Grizzlies with a matchup mismatch tonight. He is too quick and dangerous in transition for Jaren Jackson Jr. to pick up throughout the game. At the same time his length, size and activity on the offensive glass would prove difficult for Zaire Williams and Desmond Bane to deal with. In 2 games against the Grizzlies so far this season, he is averaging 12.5 points per game. He has also played fewer than 30 minutes just once in his last 7 games; a blowout win. This one looks set to be much tighter than that. Considering the defensive attention the other Pelicans like McCollum, Valanciunas and Brandon Ingram are likely to get tonight, I’m expecting Jones make the most of his more favorable matchups.
