March Madness is in full swing and the Final Four will be set on Sunday, but the NBA also has plenty to offer when it comes to basketball’s best month of the year. The professional circuit’s regular season is coming down the home stretch, with plenty of intriguing battles for playoff positioning in progress. On Sunday we have a 7-game schedule, including a showdown between Charlotte and Brooklyn on NBA TV.
Let’s take a look at today’s 3-team mega parlay.
Pistons ML (+136)
Celtics -6 (-110)
Nets -9.5 alternate spread (+145)
Parlay odds: +1003
For this parlay we are going with two favorites against the spread – one on an alternate number – and one underdog straight up. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Pistons ML over Knicks (+136)
The Knicks are clinging to playoff life as they travel to Detroit to face the Pistons. New York trails Atlanta by 5 games for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference and needs a win to stay in playoff contention. The Knicks may have to do it without Julius Randle, who did not play against the Heat on Friday and is questionable for this game. New York also didn’t have Nerlens Noel against the Heat, and his status is uncertain for this contest. It’s hard to back the Knicks as a road favorite, especially against a team that has been so good against the spread this season. The Pistons are 18-12-1 ATS as a home underdog. The Knicks have the greater motivation as they need a win, but this also looks like a little bit of a letdown spot for them after their surprising win in Miami on Friday without their best player. The Knicks are just 17-17 as a favorite this season. Detroit should keep this closer than expected, so take the Pistons to cover.

Celtics -6 over Timberwolves (-110)
Minnesota remains a game behind the Nuggets for the all-important 6th seed in the Western Conference. Boston is a half-game behind the 76ers and Heat for the top spot in the East with fewer than 10 contests remaining on each team’s regular-season schedule. The Timberwolves are playing well, but no one is as hot as the Celtics – who are 12-2 since the all-star break. They are 10-2 in their last 12 home games dating back to mid-January. Minnesota’s Achilles heel in this one could be the fact that it ranks 27th in opponents’ free-throw attempts per game since the break and Boston is adept at getting to the free-throw line. Look for the Cs to capitalize on home-court advantage.

Nets -9.5 alternate spread over Hornets (+145)
The last time Kyrie Irving went up against the Hornets he dropped 50 points. That, of course, was in Charlotte. This one, however, will be in Brooklyn. Nonetheless, Irving will be on the floor and playing. That’s right; New York’s vaccine mandate is now a thing of the past and the former Duke standout is good to go. There is a lot on the line tonight, too. Considering the teams are separated by just 1 game, a loss for the Nets could put them in danger of having to win 2 play-in games in order to advance in the playoffs. Both teams are on the second night of a back-to-back, a scenario in which the Hornets have really struggled. They have won just 1 of 13 such games this season. Count on Brooklyn building on Friday’s blowout of Miami and winning big again.
