Sunday promises to be an exciting day for hoops fans as we have an NBA TV doubleheader, with a game on ESPN in between. I’m focusing on the early tip-off between the Brooklyn Nets and Denver Nuggets, starting at 3:30 pm ET.

Continue reading to see my same-game parlay for that game, but also check our predictions on the side and total for the rest of Sunday’s 8-game slate.

Let’s dive in:

Nikola Jokic to score 35 points (+500)

Monte Morris over 1.5 made threes (-120)

Parlay odds: +939

Nikola Jokic to score 35 points (+500)

Right now the Nets have very little inside presence and they were exposed big time in the loss against Utah, when they gave up 56 points in the paint. LaMarcus Aldridge and Paul Millsap are ruled out for this game, while starting center Nic Claxton is questionable with a hamstring issue which caused him to leave the Jazz game early. All this is really good news for Nikola Jokic, who is eager to lead the Nuggets to another home win. Over his last 10 games he is averaging 28.4 points per game while shooting almost 61% from the field and 47% from 3-point land. Over his last 6 games he has scored 3 treys in half of them, and he’s been perfect from the free-throw line 5 times. In his last 3 games he is averaging just 10.3 shot attempts — it’s time for him to up that to at least to 16-18 tonight. If that happens against a Nets defense which has allowed more than 120 points in 3 of their last 5 games, Jokic should have a big game.

Monte Morris over 1.5 made threes (-120)

Injuries have allowed Monte Morris to expand his role in the Nuggets offense quite a bit over the past 10 games. He has averaged 14 points per game during that stretch. His efficiency from 3-point land has also gone up to 38.5% and he’s made at least 1 3-pointer in 5 straight games. In the loss to New Orleans he drained 5 of 8 attempts from beyond the  arc, and it was the 2nd time in 4 games he had gone over 1.5 made threes. Brooklyn’s defending of the perimeter has been poor over the past 3 games, and they’ve allowed opponents to shoot 37.8% from downtown. In their loss at Utah, the Jazz made 44.7% of their attempts. Morris shouldn’t have a problem scoring at least 2 shots from downtown.
