A new week in the NBA tips off with a 5-game slate, culminating in this showdown between the New York Knicks and Utah Jazz. New York is in the midst of a 5-game Western Conference road trip, and it has lost two consecutive contests to fall outside the playoff cut line in the. East. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Knicks vs Jazz, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.
Jazz -7 (-114)
Royce O’Neale Over 1.5 three-pointers made (+154)
Julius Randle to score 20+ points (+114)
Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Royce O’Neale draining multiple three-pointers would obviously go well with a Utah win and cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. That is the case with backing New York forward Julius Randle to pour in a fair amount of points. But even if Randle does, there is no reason why the Jazz can’t get the job done. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Jazz -7 (-114)
The Jazz are coming off a 125-102 home win over the Nets this past Friday. Although Utah is just 6-12 since the turn of the calendar to 2022, a lot of that can be attributed to Rudy Gobert’s absence and the Jazz have won two in a row. Gobert (calf) is out again tonight, while Jordan Clarkson (knee) and Rudy Gay (knee) are both game-time decisions. Utah has seen 5 different guys lead them in scoring in the last 5 games, and Donovan Mitchell has averaged 23.8 points, 5.0 assists, and 4.8 rebounds during this stretch. The visiting Knicks are coming off a 122-115 overtime loss to the Lakers on Saturday. New York is a dreadful 2-8 dating back to the start of January. The Knicks are just one game into a tough Western Conference road trip that later includes the Nuggets, Warriors, and Trail Blazers. They aren’t in a good place right now, literally and figuratively. Go with the Jazz.
Royce O’Neale Over 1.5 three-pointers made (+154)
O’Neale has successfully dialed long distance in 15 of his last 16 games. Asking him to do it twice on Monday really isn’t too much. This stretch features 7 performances with multiple triples, including a 4-for-5 effort against Memphis on January 28. The Knicks allow the 9th-most three-pointers per game in the NBA (13.0) and they are right in the middle of the pack in opponents’ three-point percentage. O’Neale went 4-for-10 in 2 games against New York last season and has a good chance to add at least 2 more in this one.
Julius Randle to score 20+ points (+114)
It hasn’t been the best season on or off the court for Randle, but he is actually playing decent basketball at the moment. He has scored at least 17 points in 9 of the last 11 outings. The former Kentucky standout just went for 32 in his team’s overtime setback against the Lakers, going 11-of-22 from the floor and 8-of-10 from the free-throw line. Randle may not be happy, but he is armed with some confidence right now. With Gobert gone for Utah, Randle should be able to convert plenty of high-percentage looks right around the basket and reach the 20-point mark.
