The Golden State Warriors are tied with the Phoenix Suns for the best record in the NBA at 21-4 heading into Friday night’s date with the Philadelphia 76ers. It’s another Curry vs Curry matchup – one in which big brother could potentially break the all-time record for three-pointers in a career. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Warriors vs 76ers, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.
Warriors -9.5 alternate spread (+220)
Stephen Curry Over 35.5 points (+320)
Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is the entire plan here, as Stephen Curry pouring in points would obviously work well with a big win for Golden State. Let’s break down each of the two legs one by one.
Warriors -9.5 alternate spread (+220)
Golden State is facing a Philadelphia team that it has already defeated once this season – by 20 points at home a couple of weeks ago. Curry drained 6 triples in 11 attempts during that contest and is now 9 away from Ray Allen (needs 10 for the lead outright). The Warriors enter tonight’s game having covering the spread 15 times in their last 20 contests. Against Philadelphia they are 14-3 SU in the last 17 meetings. Not having Joel Embiid in that first encounter of the season really hurt the Sixers, who were simply no match for the streaking Warriors. Embiid left Thursday’s 118-96 loss the Jazz with an abdominal injury, so he may be less than 100 percent even though he is expected to play on Saturday. With a banged-up Embiid and an inspired Curry who is chasing history, this game could actually get out of hand in favor of the visitors.
Stephen Curry Over 35.5 points (+320)
Although 9 threes seem like a lot to make in one game, Curry has already done that 39 times in his career — so it’s not out of the realm of possibility. Heck, ESPN was making it sound like 16 in a single game was well within reach on Thursday (of course, that’s because ESPN was televising that contest and was trying to lure viewers). Whatever the case, Curry shot 9-of-16 against Philadelphia in the previous matchup and that was in just 35 minutes of work. With history in sight, he will probably log a lot more minutes on Saturday even if Golden State wins big. The Warriors are beginning a long road trip, so no matter what the former Davidson star is breaking the record on the road – not in front of the home crowd. So he might as well go all out tonight and do it front of his brother.
