A Sunday double-header on NBATV begins with the red-hot Utah Jazz visiting the Denver Nuggets and it will conclude with this matchup between the Brooklyn Nets and the Washington Wizards. This may not end up being the most competitive contest on Sunday’s six-game slate, but it does feature plenty of star power with the likes of Kevin Durant, Kyrie Irving, Bradley Beal, and Russell Westbrook (James Harden is out for the Nets because of a minor thigh injury). As a result, this showdown is going to receive same game parlay treatment. Let’s take a look at the best such option for Brooklyn vs. Washington, and be sure to check out our full preview of the game for picks on the side and total.

Nets -9.5 alternate spread (+116)

Kyrie Irving to record 10+ assists (+255)

Kevin Durant Under 32.5 points (-108)

Russell Westbrook Over 1.5 three-pointers made (+140)

Parlay odds: +4100

Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. However, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall value of the parlay to a significant extent. That is what we are trying to do here; go big or go home, baby! We feel good about the Nets’ chances of dominating this struggling Wizards team. That does correlate nicely with a unselfish performance by Irving, but we think Brooklyn can roll even without a huge night from Durant. A couple of Westbrook three-pointers wouldn’t hurt matters too much, either.

Nets -9.5 alternate spread (+116)

Harden is out, but Durant is back in the lineup as the Nets attempt to win their fifth straight game. The former University of Texas star took the night off against Oklahoma City on Friday. One, it didn’t matter because Brooklyn won by 22 points. Two, it means Durant is well-rested for this one. He and Irving are more than capable of picking up the slack for Haden and destroying the worst team in the association (Washington is 3-12). No club in the NBA has been hit harder by health and safety protocols than the Wizards, who have not even been competitive of late. Beal, especially, is unhappy. He won’t be any happier after this game!

Kyrie Irving to record 10+ assists (+255)

Are double-digit assists likely for Irving? No; that’s why you can get this prop at +255? Is it possible? Absolutely. These are two of the four fastest teams in the NBA in terms of pace of play, with Washington leading the way at 107.6 possessions per game. Obviously more possessions mean more chances for assists. With Durant by his side and Joe Harris completely dialed in from the perimeter at the moment, Irving will have every opportunity to dish out a whole bunch of dimes.

Kyrie Irving of the Brooklyn Nets takes the ball up court.

Kevin Durant Under 32.5 points (-108)

I’m just not touching the over on this big of a total—not even when it comes to a guy like Durant against a defense like Washington’s. The 32-year-old is averaging fewer points per game (30.5) than this quota (32.5) and he has not scored more than 32 in any of the last three outings. In Brooklyn’s previous matchup with the Wizards on Jan. 3, Durant attempted a season-low (tied) 15 shots even though it was a thriller that went down to the wire (Washington won 123-122). If this rematch turns into a laugher, Durant can probably sit much of the fourth quarter.

Russell Westbrook Over 1.5 three-pointers made (+140)

There is good value at +140 on Westbrook to drain multiple shots from long range. After all, he has done so three times in the last five games. The 32-year-old hasn’t checked out as much as Beal has, but nobody on the Wizards looks particularly motivated these days. What happens when you don’t care? You settle for outside shots as opposed to driving toward the basket. Westbrook has attempted double-digit free-throws in a game just once this season. Brooklyn is only mediocre at defending the three-point line, so the former Houston Rocket can definitely sink at least two.
