As they do every year, the Atlanta Hawks are hosting a game on Martin Luther King Day. This time it is the Milwaukee Bucks paying a visit to MLK’s hometown in what is a rematch of the 2020-21 Eastern Conference Finals. Let’s take a look at the best same game parlay option for Bucks vs Hawks, and also be sure to check out our full game preview for picks on the side and total.
Bucks -5.5 (-110)
Giannis Antetokounmpo to score 35+ points (+172)
Trae Young to make 4+ three-pointers (+230)
Part of the value in same game parlays, of course, is that all of its components can be correlated if you so choose. That is some of the plan here, as Giannis Antetokounmpo pouring in points would obviously go well with a Milwaukee win and cover. At the same time, plays that aren’t correlated drive up the overall payout of the parlay. Let’s break down each of the three legs one by one.
Bucks -5.5 (-110)
The Bucks will continue to be without Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez. Fortunately for the visitors, the Hawks are still without Bogdan Bogdanovic and Clint Capela. Per Cleaning the Glass, Atlanta ranks in only the 35th percentile in offensive efficiency and the 30th percentile in defensive efficiency when both Bogdanovic and Capela are on the sidelines. The Hawks have lost each of their 4 contests since Capela hit the injury report on January 8. During this stretch they. are last in the NBA in Net Rating, 29th in rebounding percentage, and 28th in defensive efficiency. Atlanta has been outscored by 13 points per 100 possessions over its last 4 outings. Even though the Bucks are not championship material without Holiday, they should be able to extend the Hawks’ woes without too much trouble.
Giannis Antetokounmpo to score 35+ points (+172)
Holiday and Lopez are out for Milwaukee. Capela is out for Atlanta. Both of those factors point to a huge evening for Antetokounmpo. Where else – other than from Khris Middleton – are the Bucks going to get points? How – without Capela – are the Hawks going to stop anyone in the paint? The Greek Freak will be able to get anything he wants, so look for him to build on what has already been an impressive stretch of games. He has reached the 30-point mark in 7 consecutive contests, including 35 once and 43 on another occasion.

Trae Young to make 4+ three-pointers (+230)
Atlanta has lost 5 games in a row and is now 8 games under .500. Things generally go downhill fast for the Hawks when they aren’t playing well because they don’t turn to fundamental basketball in an effort to bounce back; they just try to shoot themselves out of the funk. I expect Young to continue to do that today. He has forked up 19 3-pointers in the last 2 games, making 7 of them. In the last 7 outings the former Oklahoma standout has drained 5 triples once and 7 on another occasion. Milwaukee allows the second-most 3-pointers per game in the league, so 4 is a number well within reach for Young.
