After failing to close out the Raptors in Game 4 on the road, the 76ers now have another opportunity tonight in front of their own fans as the teams meet up in Game 5. Tip-off is set for 8:00 pm ET on NBA TV and I’ve prepared a same game parlay which you can find below.

We also have predictions on the side and total for the other games being played tonight, be sure to check those out.

Let’s dive in!

Toronto Raptors +7.5 (-110)

Gary Trent Jr. over 19.5 points (-114)

Joel Embiid under 27.5 points (-110)

Tyrese Maxey 3+ made threes (+108)

Parlay odds: +1106

Toronto Raptors +7.5 (-110)

This is the biggest spread of the series so far. That makes sense with Philly holding a commanding 3-1 series lead and the Raptors potentially missing a top player. Toronto might have found something with their big lineup the other day, though. With Scottie Barnes back and Fred VanVleet out, they play a lot bigger. That does not give them the size to match up with Joel Embiid one to one, but it makes the double teams they are throwing at him a lot more effective. I liked what I saw and think the Raptors will push to extend the series again. Win or lose they can keep it close.

Gary Trent Jr. over 19.5 points (-114)

Good things happen to the Raptors whenever Gary Trent Jr. has a good scoring game. In the first 2 games of this series he didn’t play well because of an illness, scoring just 9 points in Game 1 and having none in Game 2. He has woken up in the past 2 games though, scoring 24 in each of them, and that was the difference-maker in the Game 4 win at home. During the regular season he averaged 19.5 points per game against the 76ers in 4 meetings and over his last 8 games overall he’s averaging 20.5 per game on almost 47% shooting from the field. There’s a good chance we won’t see VanVleet here as he is a game-time decision after leaving the last game with an injury, so that should open up the door for Trent Jr. to have another solid scoring game.

Joel Embiid under 27.5 points (-110)

The 76ers were dealt a big blow to their ambitions once it was revealed that Joel Embiid has a torn ligament in his thumb which will require surgery. Embiid has opted to play through the pain, just like he has on numerous occasions before, but as soon as the season is over he will have to get it fixed and miss an extended period of time. He is averaging 26 points in the 4 games so far, shooting under 50% and he has gone under this total in 3 games. The injury did seem to affect him in Game 4 as he grimaced a couple of times after using his injured hand. The Raptors held him to just 21 points on 7-for-16 shooting and forced him to turn the ball over 5 times. In his last 3 games he’s committed 4, 6 and 5 turnovers, and that cannot continue if the 76ers want to close out this series at home tonight. The Raptors’ game plan will surely involve slowing down Embiid, but I think this injury is too much to overcome as it’s his shooting hand. Take him to go under tonight.

Tyrese Maxey 3+ made threes (+108)

With Embiid now dealing with a ligament tear in his thumb and James Harden struggling to shoot all series long, it’ll be up to Tyrese Maxey to continue his hot scoring streak for the 76ers at home. For young players like him, it’s a big deal where the games are being played, as we have seen through the first 4 games of this series. In his home games, Maxey has scored 38 and 23, while on the road he ended up with 19 and 11. The good news is he scored 3 or more threes in both of those games in Philadelphia on over 50% shooting both times. There’s no doubt in my mind he will be the X-factor for the 76ers tonight as the Raptors have struggled a bit with his speed.
