We’ve got a solid seven games for this Tuesday NBA slate, and the best one is probably this Western Conference showdown between the Phoenix Suns and Los Angeles Lakers in TNT’s nightcap. Old friends Chris Paul vs. LeBron James in a battle of two of the West’s best. We’ve cashed a couple of these NBA same game parlays with big payouts recently, let’s do it again.
What better way to make this nationally televised showdown even more entertaining than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.
Phoenix Suns to win by 11+ (+430)
Chris Paul to record 14+ assists (+680)
Parlay odds: +3370
We’ve got a simple two-leg parlay here, one which pays out north of 30/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. Paul has been dishing dimes at a crazy rate recently, so I think this scenario is quite plausible. Let me explain:
Phoenix Suns to win by 11+ (+430)
The Lakers are getting too much respect here just for being the Lakers. Phoenix is one of the hottest teams in the league, as they’ve gone an impressive 14-3 in their last 17 games. Five of their last six wins have come by at least 18 points, so they’ve been blowing teams out, which makes me think there’s some serious value on this alternate spread.
Los Angeles has scraped by with their defense the past couple of games, but they’re still just 2-4 in their past six games. In those six games they’ve been held to 102 points or fewer four times, which is pretty anemic by 2021 NBA standards. It also leaves them vulnerable to a lopsided loss here if the Suns’ offense is clicking, which it has been.
Chris Paul to record 14+ assists (+680)
Paul has recorded 15 assists in back to back games entering this one, so I really don’t think it’s far-fetched and +680 is far too steep of a price. Just a few games before that, he had 19 against the Pelicans. They won each of those last two games comfortably, and beat New Orleans by 18 in that game, so I think there’s a pretty clear correlation between Paul racking up dimes and the Suns winning easily.
Playing on a new team it was always going to take him a little time to build chemistry, and now that he has that chemistry down we need to pounce before oddsmakers adjust. The only two games recently where he didn’t hit double digit assists were in a couple of 30-point blowouts where he only played 25 and 22 minutes. Even in that lopsided Suns win over Portland, he still had nine assists in only 25 minutes.
