The NBA is finally back in full swing with a full slate on Thursday, and one of the best games on it is this Western Conference showdown between the Golden State Warriors and Los Angeles Clippers in TNT’s nightcap. Steph Curry vs. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George. We’ve cashed a couple of these NBA same game parlays with big payouts recently, let’s do it again.
What better way to make this nationally televised showdown even more entertaining than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.
Golden State Warriors -5.5 alternate spread (+460)
Paul George to record 30+ points (+200)
Parlay odds: +2612
We’ve got a simple two-leg parlay here, one which pays out north of 25/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. George has been scoring well lately while the Clips are being overvalued. Let me explain:
Golden State Warriors -5.5 alternate spread (+460)
The Clippers were quietly playing terribly heading into the break, losing three in a row and four of five. Some of the recent losses have been really embarrassing, like when they fell to the Wizards or by 28 to the Grizzlies. Golden State had a gauntlet right before the break, so I think the time off will have done them a lot of good.
The last time these teams played the Warriors won by 10, so it’s not like this is some sort of mismatch. The Clippers won the first meeting but it was a very close game, so I think getting +460 here presents a ton of value. They had absolutely no answer for Curry last time, letting him score 38 points while making nine threes.
Paul George to record 30+ points (+200)
We get a huge odds boost for combining this with the Warriors winning, when I really don’t think it conflicts much at all. FanDuel is treating this as if there’s a huge opposite correlation, when George’s scoring numbers are virtually identical in wins and losses this season. As for his chances of scoring at least 30 here, he’s reached that mark in four of his last eight games, so I think getting +200 has some standalone value.
The most recent time he dropped 30 was right before the All-Star break, when he scored 32 against the Celtics and the team still lost. Just a week before that, he scored 34 in a loss to the Nets, so the scenario we’re looking for here really isn’t that improbable at all.
