The NBA is finally back in action. The All-Star break is over at long last, and we’ve got a nice slate on Saturday. We’ve got a showdown on NBATV featuring one of the best teams in the league here as the Brooklyn Nets host the Detroit Pistons. We’ve cashed a couple of these NBA same game parlays with big payouts recently, let’s do it again.

What better way to make this nationally televised showdown even more entertaining than by betting a same game parlay? We’ve also got thoughts on the side and total, which you can find out in our full game preview.

Brooklyn Nets -11.5 (-110)

Jerami Grant to score 30 + points (+300)

James Harden to score 30+ points (+156)

Parlay odds: +1910

We’ve got a three-leg parlay here, one which pays out just shy of 20/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook. The Nets are going to roll here, but Grant is poised for a big scoring night nonetheless. Let me explain:

Brooklyn Nets -11.5 (-110)

This one isn’t going to be close. The Nets haven’t just been winning games they’ve been a covering machine, going an incredible 11-1 against the spread in their last 12 contests. I don’t see the Pistons coming in on the road and making this game competitive. Detroit is just 1-5 in their last six games, with their only win in that span coming against a Raptors team missing some of their best players due to COVID-19 issues.

The Nets have been beating far better teams by lopsided margins recently, they just beat the Celtics by 12 in their latest game for example, so I’m not too concerned about laying double digits here. In fact, eight of their last 11 wins have come by double digits. The Pistons have been even worse on the road than at home this season, with a pitiful 4-17 record in their 21 away games.

Jerami Grant to score 30 + points (+300)

We get a nice odds boost by combining this with the Nets covering, when I don’t really think it conflicts at all. Grant is actually averaging 2.4 points per game more in losses than in wins this season. It’s been an abysmal year for the Pistons overall, but Grant has been a huge bright spot. He’s gotten to at least 30 points in five of his last 12, so I think getting +300 here has some standalone value. +300 implies a probability of only 25 percent. Grant also scored 32 when these teams played last month, so there are reasons to believe the matchup is favorable to him.

James Harden to score 30+ points (+156)

I think Harden is also poised for a big scoring night, and all we really need for all three of these plays to cash is a high scoring game, which certainly isn’t a rarity in today’s NBA. Harden only scored 22 points in his first game back from the break against the Celtics, but that’s just because he had an off night and shot 1/8 from beyond the arc. He scored at least 29 points in seven of his last nine games leading up to the break, so I also think there’s value at +156. Unlike Grant, Harden is scoring 2.2 points per game *more* in wins than losses this year, so this play actually does correlate with the Nets winning big.
