The Phoenix Suns will be hoping to avoid their 4th loss of the season against the LA Lakers tonight, as the 2 teams meet up at Crypto.com Arena. I have prepared a Same Game Parlay to make things a bit more interesting, tipoff is at 10:00 pm ET on TNT.
For picks on the side and total for the rest of Thursday’s games, simply head over to our NBA predictions. Let’s dive into my SGP bet now!
Bradley Beal Over 1.5 3s (+164)
Anthony Davis to record 30+ points (-105)
Kevin Durant Over 4.5 assists (-150)
Same Game Parlay odds: +632
Bradley Beal, SG, PHX Over 1.5 3s (+164)
You might be wondering how come we are getting such high odds for a proven player like Beal to drain just a couple of 3s. Well, the answer is pretty simple. The 30-year old has struggled with injuries a lot this season and isn’t exactly performing like the player we saw put up 30 a night with the Washington Wizards. I’m confident it’s only a matter of time he turns things around, and the Lakers might be the perfect team to do so against. He is averaging 1.9 makes from 3 against them in the last 10 meetings, failing to clear this line on only 2 occasions. L.A.’s struggles defending the perimeter are well known around the NBA, it is ranked only 21st in the league allowing opponents to shoot 38% from 3. In their last 3 games that number has gone up to a whopping 46.2%, the worst in the entire NBA during that stretch. It’s time for Beal to remind us just how good of an offensive player he is, so let’s back him to knock down a pair of triples.
Anthony Davis, PF, LAL to record 30+ points (-105)
AD has been putting up huge numbers for the Lakers for quite some time now. He has upped his point per game average from 25.7 points to 29.9 per game over his last 10 outings. His efficiency is also through the roof in those 10 games – he is at almost 60% from the field, 39% from 3 and better than 80% from the foul line. With a unproven defender like Jusuf Nurkic trying to guard him tonight, Davis has a solid chance to dominate. In the last 5 meetings with the Suns he is posting 25.5 points per game — but with his recent good run of form I think he’ll be able to push that to 30 on Thursday. We just saw him put up 41 on the Toronto Raptors; that was the 3rd time in 4 games he’s scored at least 29 points. Phoenix just gave up 62 points from inside the paint against the Clippers and allowed them to shoot 51.7% from deep. Look for AD to capitalize on their struggles.
Kevin Durant, SF, PHX, Over 4.5 assists (-150)
Kevin Durant has voiced his frustration many times with how things are going for him and his team, but he has still delivered numbers despite the Suns’ struggles. He is averaging 6.9 assists in his last 7 games, the return of Bradley Beal from injury has given him another steady option to pass the ball to. Durant has easily surpassed this line 8 times in his last 10 games overall; he is a much bigger problem for opposing defenses when he concentrates on getting others involved instead of making shots. The Lakers have certainly felt that in the last 10 games he has played them; KD is averaging 5.9 assists during that stretch and he has also cleared this line 8 times in those 10 games. Los Angeles doesn’t really have a player to match up with him here, so I wouldn’t be surprised if KD went off in this one.
