Considering the super team that the Phoenix Suns have constructed, few would have predicted that at this stage of the season the team would be 9 games behind the conference-leading Denver Nuggets. The good news for the Suns is that they are just a game behind the Sacramento Kings for an automatic playoff berth. The bad news for them is that the Nuggets are in great form, having won 4 straight and 9 of their last 10 games. It should lead to a spectacular battle tonight in Denver.

Jusuf Nurkic Over 9.5 points (-113)
Although Jusuf Nurkic has reached double-digit points just once over his last 5 games, I expect much more aggression from him tonight against his former team. He has shown signs of that this season, too, averaging 19 points per game against the Nuggets. In order to slow down Nikola Jokic offensively, the Suns can really put him to work on the other side of the ball. With Nurkic being their best scoring threat on the outside, and someone who has the size to cause Jokic real issues, look for him to play a major role. The home team can be vulnerable on the boards, ranking 21st this season in opponent offensive rebounds per game. With the Bosnian center in the top 10 of the NBA in offensive rebounds per game, he should be able to pick up second-chance points to help aid his scoring numbers.

Grayson Allen Over 2.5 made 3s (+100)
With Bradley Beal suffering an injury to a finger on his shooting hand, he is questionable for this game. This should mean higher usage for other wings like Grayson Allen. He is making 3.6 triple per game this month on 48.5% shooting from beyond the arc. He also knocked down 8 of 12 3-pointers in the last game against the Nuggets. With higher usage, he could see the same number of attempts from beyond the arc on Wednesday. Beal did take the floor in that contest, but Phoeniz was without Devin Booker. So it is possible that Allen will be tasked with replacing one of the Big 3 in terms of production. For one of the most lethal shooters in the NBA this season, that should equal success from beyond the arc.

Michael Porter Jr. Over 2.5 made 3s (-120)
The man that will be looking to answer Allen’s long bombs for the Nuggets is Michael Porter Jr. He has been fantastic shooting the ball this month, too, managing 3.1 made 3s per game at a 48.1% clip. That level of efficiency has allowed him to hit this over in 4 of his last 5 games. In the last meeting against the Suns, he also attempted 12 shots from beyond the arc — knocking down 4 in the process. A similar level of aggression in looking for own his shot, something Porter Jr. is known for doing, should yield similar results. The Suns are far from a lockdown defensive team either, ranking 19th in defensive rating over the last 10 games. They will inevitable have to send help towards Jokic tonight, which should leave the Nuggets forward to attack from the outside.
