Boston Celtics ML over New York Knicks (-200)

Boston is once again the clear-cut favorite to win it all, and for good reason. The Celtics’ core remains basically the same, with only Kristaps Porzingis missing due to injury. Even without the Latvian, they went 10-2 SU in the postseason, so I am not expecting them to fall off due to his absence. Jayson Tatum didn’t play much during the Olympics, and he is out to prove his worth after not winning the NBA Finals MVP award last year. The winner of that award, Jaylen Brown, didn’t even get an invite to the Olympics in Paris; there is no doubt he will use that as motivation ahead of this season. Judging by the preseason Boston will be fired up to get off to a winning start on Tuesday. The C’s finished 4-1 SU and with the highest point differential at +16.6 points per game. I’m backing the champs on Opening Night. They went 37-4 SU at home last year, beating the Knicks by an average of 11 ppg in the 4 wins over them.

Derrick White to score 15+ points (+105)

Derrick White’s value to this Celtics team is immense. He is their glue guy who keeps everything together and more often than not head coach Joe Mazzulla relied heavily on him last season. He averaged just over 31 minutes per game against the Knicks in 5 meetings, scoring 12 points per game. In one of those games he erupted for 30 points. With Porzingis out of the lineup, White might have to step up on offense a little more than usual. He finished last season averaging 15.2 points per game, and in the NBA Finals against Dallas, he cleared this line in the first 3 games. I believe backing him to score 15+ is a really solid bet here at plus-money odds.

Karl-Anthony Towns 2+ made threes (-210)

Although KAT is still getting adjusted to his new surroundings, you just know that he will give his best to make a good first impression as the Knicks take on the champs on Opening Night. He’s known to let it fly from distance, sometimes even against the wishes of his coaching staff, but I believe the Knicks have got themselves a solid upgrade to replace Julius Randle. Towns finished last season as one of the top three-point shooters in the NBA, averaging 41.6% makes on 5.3 attempts per game. Against the Celtics, he’s cleared this line 3 times in the last 7 meetings, while in his last visit to TD Garden, he had a really solid game in scoring 25 points and connecting on a pair of threes. I wouldn’t be surprised if he was the 2nd scoring option behind Brunson this season, so let’s hope he can get off to a hot shooting start on Tuesday night.

Josh Hart over 4.5 assists (-122)

To close out our Knicks vs Celtics Same Game Parlay, I have Josh Hart connecting on 5 assists. Hart played a vital role in New York’s postseason run last year, averaging over 42 minutes per game. In those 42 minutes, he averaged 4.5 assists, carrying the shorthanded Knicks offense, especially in the series against Philadelphia. He is one of Tom Thibodeau’s favorite players, so you just know his playing time is a guarantee. That always bodes well for bets like these, as Hart has cleared this line in 3 straight games against the Boston Celtics by dishing out 5, 6 and 7 assists in those games. Someone other than Brunson will have to feed the newly acquired shooters Towns and Bridges, I’m counting on Hart to do just that.
