Not a lot of people saw the 76ers winning Game 1 against the Raptors by 20 points, but I’m expecting a much closer outcome in Game 2 as the teams battle again at Wells Fargo Center tonight. Tip-off is set for 7:30 pm ET on TNT and I’ve prepared a same game parlay which you can find below.
We also have predictions on the side and total for a pair of Game 2s out west, so be sure to check those out.
Let’s dive in!
Toronto Raptors ML (+245)
Pascal Siakam over 8.5 rebounds (-114)
Tyrese Maxey to score 20+ points (+108)
Parlay odds: +1332
Toronto Raptors ML (+245)
I’m not quite ready to bury the Raptors. Toronto is in a tough spot after going down 1-0 and having a couple of guys get hurt in Game 1. It looks like Scottie Barnes and Gary Trent are both on the wrong side of questionable. But I don’t think the Raptors played nearly as badly as the 131-111 final score from Game 1 indicates. They actually did a pretty good job on both Joel Embiid and James Harden, but Tobias Harris and Tyrese Maxey just happened to have amazing shooting nights.
Embiid shot just 5-for-15 and Harden was 6-for-17, while the 76ers just had all their secondary players getting really hot from beyond the arc. Toronto’s veteran leaders Pascal Siakam, Fred VanVleet and OG Anunoby all scored pretty efficiently in Game 1. This grizzled and experienced team isn’t the type to roll over just because they had a bad first game of a series.

Pascal Siakam over 8.5 rebounds (-114)
Losing Scottie Barnes for Game 2 is a big blow for the Raptors, so they’ll need someone to step up on the boards, as he averages 7.5 rebounds per game for them. He went into double digits in Game 1 with 10, so whoever starts in his spot will have a big responsibility both cleaning the glass but also disrupting Joel Embiid down low. I’m expecting an increase of rebounding across the board for all Raptors starters, and Pascal Siakam in particular should have a big game. He’s averaging 9.8 rebounds over his last 9 games and although against Philly on Sunday he finished with 7, in the game before that at Wells Fargo Center he had 12 of them. His size and physicality will be key for Toronto if they want to steal Game 2 on the road.

Tyrese Maxey to score 20+ points (+108)
Tyrese Maxey stole the show in Game 1 by scoring a team-high 38 points, showing Sixers fans that whenever Embiid and Harden are struggling shooting the ball, they have someone to lean on. With his performance he joined some elite company in 76ers history, as only Allen Iverson and Wilt Chamberlain have scored more points in a playoff opener. That is pretty impressive for someone who is only 21 years old and is just going to get better for the Sixers. I don’t expect him to drop 38 in Game 2, but getting to 20 points shouldn’t be too hard. He averaged 19.8 points per game in 4 meetings with the Raptors during the regular season. In those games he shot 52.7% from the field, 50% from 3-point land and almost 93% from the free-throw line. Toronto will have their hands full trying to stop Embiid and Harden again, so Maxey should be able to find his spots.
