Believe it or not, it is already the 3rd meeting of the season between the Minnesota Timberwolves and the San Antonio Spurs. Each team won a game earlier this week and you can catch tonight’s live on NBA TV from 7:00 pm ET. I’ve prepared a Same Game Parlay which you can find below.

Minnesota Timberwolves -6 (-108)
Karl-Anthony Towns to score 25+ points (+130)
Anthony Edwards to record 6+ assists (+220)
Parlay odds: +1046
Minnesota Timberwolves -6 over San Antonio Spurs (-108)
Minnesota has 2 wins in their last 3 games and one of those was against the Spurs, who they beat 134-122 on their home court on Wednesday. It was their 7th win in the last 10 meetings with San Antonio, and they’ve also covered the spread in 8 of those games. They are outscoring the Spurs by an average of 7.3 points.
The Spurs have exceeded expectations in the first week of the new season, but I’m expecting them to slowly come down to earth. This team has just 1 win in their last 6 games against Western Conference teams, and with the 3rd-worst defense in the NBA right now I can’t see them sustaining a winning record for much longer. Opponents are scoring 122 points per game against them — only the Brooklyn Nets and Detroit Pistons have worse numbers than that. Minnesota won the last meeting by 12 points and I see no reason why they can’t cover the 6-point spread here.

Karl-Anthony Towns to score 25+ points (+130)
Towns has scored over 20 points in both meetings with the Spurs this season, so reaching 25 isn’t out of reach. For his career, he averages 22 points per game against San Antonio in 22 games played, while in the 5 most recent games that number is up to 30.8 per game. He has also been very efficient in those 5 games shooting 55% from the field and an even better 57% from three-point land while making 3.8 shots from downtown. Earlier in the year, he dropped a career-high 60 points on the Spurs at the AT&T Center back in March. I’m not expecting a 60-piece tonight, but Towns should get enough shots in a high-paced game to reach at least 25 points here.

Anthony Edwards to record 6+ assists (+220)
In order for Towns to reach that number, his teammate Anthony Edwards will need to assist him on a few of his shots. Ant-Man has also enjoyed a decent spell of games against the Spurs scoring an average of 22 points per game against them in the last 5 meetings. On Wednesday he finished with a team-high 34 points and 9 assists, which was the 3rd time in the last 5 games he collected at least 6 dimes against San Antonio. I’m expecting a similar output in tonight’s game.
The Spurs rank just 24th in the NBA in opponent assists per game with teams averaging 27.5 dimes a night against them. In the two meetings so far this season, Minnesota had 37 and 24 assists. If they can go over 30 tonight they should get the win and Edwards should have at least 6 of them.
