Last night I was able to cash on my Mavericks vs Lakers Same Game Parlay at +439 odds and I’m going for back-to-back winners with this Grizzlies vs Timberwolves game. Tip-off is at 10:00 pm ET on TNT, right after the Bulls vs Raptors game wraps up. You can fnd out our NBA picks for tonight’s 5-game slate, but for now, let’s dive into my Grizzlies vs Timberwolves Same Game Parlay.
Over 215 points (-110)
Luke Kennard over 2.5 made threes (-146)
Karl-Anthony Towns to score 25+ points (+170)
Same Game Parlay odds: +511
Over 215 points (-110)
I must say I can’t remember the last time I saw a projected total of just 215 points for an NBA game. The first 2 meetings of the season both surpassed that number, with the last 10 head-to-head matchups averaging 219.5 points per game. Memphis showed us they’re capable of making shots in the win over Golden State and although I don’t expect them to knock down 20 threes in back-to-back games, they should still put up a respectable number here.
Playing on a 2nd night of a back-to-back, the Timberwolves might relax a bit on defense, but I do expect them to speed things up here. They’re knocking down 44.8% of their threes in the last 3 outings, and only 5 teams in the entire NBA have a better percentage from downtown in home games this season. I believe the Timberwolves will score enough to put us over the top here, so let’s roll with the over.

Luke Kennard over 2.5 made threes (-146)
Kennard is definitely one of the remaining uninjured players capable of going off for the Grizzlies in this game. He is only 2nd to Desmond Bane on the team in three-point makes per game at 2.2 a night. At 40% efficiency, he is also 3rd on the team in three-point percentage, but unlike GG Jackson and Jacob Gilyard, he’s doing it while attempting 5.6 threes per game. After the latest injury to Desmond Bane, his minutes and shot attempts have gone up and that should continue as the season progresses, provided he can stay healthy. Kennard has cleared this line in 9 of his last 14 games, while knocking down at least 2 threes in each of his last 5. In Kennard’s last 4 games against the Timberwolves, he’s averaged 2.2 makes from downtown and has shot 50% or better in 3 of those. I’m counting on Kennard to play a big role for Memphis tonight.
Karl-Anthony Towns to score 25+ points (+170)
Speaking of playing big roles, Karl-Anthony Towns has certainly done that for Minnesota this season. Just last night he had 27 points in the win over the Pistons. What made that performance even more impressive is the fact that he did it in just 31 minutes, shooting almost 59% from the field and knocking down all 5 of his three-point attempts. KAT has been cooking in January, especially from downtown where he’s improved his efficiency by almost 7% and is making 2.4 threes per game, compared to a modest 1.6 in December. Towns had 24 points in the last meeting with the Grizzlies and that number would have been a lot higher if the game wasn’t a blowout. I expect the hot shooting to continue for Towns here, especially since the Grizzlies’ three-point defense ranks only 25th in the NBA.
