Giannis Antetokounmpo to record 1+ blocks (-150)
The matchup between Antetokounmpo and Anthony Davis will be a joy to watch. The 2 big men are the best players on their respective teams and neither of them will shy away from the challenge. Giannis has stepped it up defensive over the past 8 games, recording at least 1 block 6 times. In general, Milwaukee’s defense has improved quite a lot over the past 3 games; opponents are scoring just 35.3 points per game on the Bucks from inside the paint, the best mark in the NBA during that stretch. With the Lakers being the 2nd highest paint-scoring team in the NBA (56.2 points per game), there will be plenty of opportunities for Giannis to block a few shots. He has made at least 1 block in 9 of the last 10 games against the Lakers.

D’Angelo Russell to score 20+ points (-140)
The last time the Lakers played without LeBron James was 2 weeks ago, coincidentally against the Bucks. D’Angelo Russell’s stat line in that game? Just a cool 44 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists on 17-for-25 shooting from the field, including 9 triples on 12 attempts. Now, it would be foolish to expect a identical performance tonight — but with James out of the lineup, I’m expecting Russell to assert himself as the 2nd scoring option for LA in this game. He is averaging 20.2 points per game in his last 10 outings, clearing this line twice in his last 3 outings. Another encouraging factor is his 3-point shooting, which is at a staggering 45.3% during that stretch. He just loves playing the Bucks — in the last 10 games against them dating back to his days with the Brooklyn Nets, Russell is averaging 22.1 points per game. Behind AD, I think Russell will lead the charge on offense for the Lakers.

Rui Hachimura over 1.5 made threes (+100)
Another player who has really stepped it up in games when LeBron doesn’t play is Rui Hachimura. H i’s averaging 16.4 points per game in the last 5 such games and has shot 50% or better from 3-point land in 3 of those instances. Lately he has been putting up solid numbers , as well; in his last 10 games he’s at an average of 16 points on a little over 43% efficiency from downtown. The Bucks’ defense has seen improvements over the past few games, but they are still flawed in some areas. With the focus being on shutting down AD and Russell, players like Hachimura and/or Austin Reaves could be in line for big performances. Let’s hope he can make one early and then the floodgates will open.
