The Brooklyn Nets will be trying to stay afloat for the next few weeks without the services of Kevin Durant. They should be tested tonight against an extremely well-coached San Antonio Spurs squad. The Nets are involved in an incredibly tight race for the top seed in the Eastern Conference, with 6 teams separated by just 2.5 games. A loss could cause them to lose ground.

Doug McDermott over 2.5 made threes (+132)
After trading Bryn Forbes to the Denver Nuggets, the Spurs have one real marksman left on the perimeter and its Doug McDermott. He was able to step up in the first game after the trade, managing to knock down 6 of his 9 attempts from deep against the Oklahoma City Thunder. On the season he is shooting 42% from deep and should get enough shots here to be able to knock down 3, given that he is their main threat from out there. The Nets are one of the better teams in the league at defending the 3-point line. However, that may be tough to maintain here without the length of Durant on the perimeter. That should make it easier for McDermott to let it fly tonight.
Dejounte Murray over 20.5 points (-110)
When looking at the Nets’ backcourt of James Harden, Kyrie Irving, and Patty Mills; none of those players stand out as lockdown defenders. That should work in favor of Dejounte Murray, who is enjoying a strong January. The Spurs’ point guard is averaging 23.7 points per game this month, his highest average for a month this season. He has managed 21 or more points in 6 of the 9 games that he has appeared in and should be able to exploit the Nets’ backcourt. The Nets have recently given up 21 or more points to Darius Garland, Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, and Bradley Beal. Look for Murray to follow in their footsteps.
James Harden under 8.5 rebounds (-115)
James Harden was only able to record 7 rebounds in an overtime game against the San Antonio Spurs earlier in January. In 10 games that he has appeared in this month he has reached 9 rebounds on just 2 occasions. He failed to hit this line in each of the road games during that stretch. The Spurs are 5th in the league in rebounds per game and have size throughout their starting 5. The presence of Jakob Poeltl in the middle also gives the hosts the most dominant rebounder on either side, which should make it tough for others to come in and grab boards. As a team the Spurs are also 28th in the league in 3-point attempts, which should limit the number of long rebounding opportunities available to the guards. The under seems like a good look here for Harden.
