The New York Knicks will be visiting the Milwaukee Bucks tonight to cap off the evening’s NBA action (10:00 pm ET, ESPN). The visitors have enjoyed a slight resurgence to their season to have a chance of making the play-in tournament. Going up against the defending champions, look for them to bring their best shot tonight. You can check out my same game parlay for this matchup below.
Milwaukee Bucks -9 (-110)
Mitchell Robinson to score 10+ points (+210)
Giannis Antetokounmpo to record 12+ rebounds (+154)
Parlay odds: +1401
Milwaukee Bucks -9 (-110)
The Bucks finally have both Khris Middleton and Jrue Holiday healthy. Holiday didn’t have the best of games in the 115-99 loss at Cleveland the other night, finishing with just 4 points on 2-of-9 shooting. The Bucks bench was also disappointing with only 15 points scored. They’ll have to do a lot better tonight if they want to beat the Knicks. I expect them to do so, as they are 17-8 at home this season and their last 2 wins against New York were by 12 and 15 points. I’m expecting a similar outcome in tonight’s game. Milwaukee will want to redeem themselves at home after a tough loss at Cleveland. They are fully healthy and playing a team that has underperformed all season. Take the Bucks to cover.
Mitchell Robinson to score 10+ points (+210)
Over the last 10 games Mitchell Robinson is averaging 11.9 points per game. In that stretch he has recorded double-digit points on 6 occasions. He will likely have Giannis Antetokounmpo guarding him tonight, which should work to his advantage. There is no doubt that the former MVP is a terrific defender. However he is best when he is the help defender, which should allow Robinson opportunities to position himself under the basket for easy scores or rebounds. The Knicks center is one of the most efficient finishers around the rim in the NBA, so there would not need to be many such lapses from Antetokounmpo for this leg to hit. Back him to continue with his improved scoring streak tonight.
Giannis Antetokounmpo to record 12+ rebounds (+154)
On the season the Knicks are just 24th in the league in true shooting percentage. That inefficiency should make them the perfect opponent for Antetokounmpo to rebound against. He has already been able to record a 15-rebound game against them this season and should be well positioned to do something similar. If he is to guard Robinson, Antetokounmpo would be able to stay in and around the paint the whole game, considering his opponent is not capable of stretching the floor with his shooting. He has 6 games already in January with 12 or more rebounds and with a favorable matchup, look for him to achieve it once more tonight.
