Philadelphia 76ers -4.5 Alternative Point Spread (+126)
Over 221 Points (-110)
Joel Embiid Over 30.5 Points (-110)
Paul George Over 2.5 Made Threes (-138)
Parlay odds: +1318
Philadelphia 76ers -4.5 Alternative Point Spread (+126)
The 76ers have dominated the head-to-head meetings here winning five of the last seven and covering in nine of the last 10. Joel Embiid has been in great form ever since he returned from injury. The Brooklyn Nets didn’t have an answer for him last time out, he finished with 39 points and 13 rebounds. LA will also have issues with him as he is a match-up nightmare no matter who tries to guard him. Clippers could be without Kawhi Leonard who hasn’t played in his last three games, LA has gone only 3-3 ATS without him in the line-up while Paul George is playing. Philadelphia’s last five wins against the Clippers were by an average margin of eight points per win.
Over 221 Total Points (-110)
There are several reasons to back the over here. If we look at the previous three meetings the two teams have averaged 237.6 points between them and in the earlier meeting this season they combined for 234 points, this was with Embiid not playing for the 76ers. Both teams have shot the ball extremely well in those three meetings, Clippers are at 51.7 percent while the Sixers are at 49 percent. Paul George has dropped 30+ points in his last four games, while Tobias Harris has gone 20+ in four of his last six. Being at home I expect Philadelphia to control the tempo, they are the eighth fastest team in the NBA this season, so hopefully that results in a high scoring affair here.
Joel Embiid Over 30.5 Points (-110)
Where do we start with Joel Embiid? The level of dominance he is presenting now if off the charts. In three of his last five games he has scored 35 or more points, he’s had back-to-back performances of 36 and 39 points against the Mavericks and Nets. A lot of people are saying the MVP race is over, but Joel is here to prove everyone it is far from that. His numbers improve when playing at home, he averages 31.7 points at the Wells Fargo Center while shooting 53.5 percent from the field. He also averages 10.4 makes from the free throw line on 12.1 attempts. We should see him put up similar numbers tonight as the Clippers will throw everyone they have at the center position at him to try and slow him down. Embiid is on a mission and we’re in for another big game from him.
Paul George Over 2.5 Made Threes (-138)
With Kawhi Leonard being once again questionable battling a sore foot, Paul George will be the catalyst of the Clippers offense. That strategy has worked well for him in the past four games, he has averaged 34.2 points as the main scoring threat. Plus in three of four games he has gone 6/9, 7/9 and 4/7 from three point land. With Embiid clogging the paint, the Clippers will be forced to do damage from deep and George shouldn’t have any issues making at least three shots tonight.
