The NBA’s next big thing finally makes his official NBA debut tonight as the #1 pick Victor Wembanyama and his San Antonio Spurs go up against Luka Doncic and his Dallas Mavericks. I’ve already landed a +270 odds Suns vs Warriors Same Game Parlay winner last night, so why not make it 2 in a row? Tip-off is at 9:30 pm ET on ESPN. We also have NBA predictions for all 12 games today, but for now, let’s dive into my Mavs vs Spurs Same Game Parlay.

Victor Wembanyama to Score 20+ Points (+130)

Kyrie Irving 3+ Made Threes (-240)

Luka Doncic to Record 8+ Rebounds (-170)

Same Game Parlay odds: +395

Victor Wembanyama to Score 20+ Points (+130)

It’s difficult to compare Wemby to any of the greats that came before him, simply because we’ve never seen anything like him. He has already made some jaw-dropping plays in the preseason, so there is no doubt in my mind he will make a good first impression in his debut against Dallas. We’re getting pretty solid odds of +130 for a 20+ point game — he cleared that line twice during the preseason while averaging 19.2 points per game in 4 played. One of the biggest weaknesses of this Mavericks roster is their interior defense, so I’m expecting Wembanyama to exploit that. He has the whole package though — in 3 of the 4 preseason games he also knocked down 2 threes, so the Mavs could be in a lot of trouble here as the rookie starts off what should be an illustrious career.

Kyrie Irving 3+ Made Threes (-240)

A lot has been said about Kyrie Irving and his fit with the Mavericks since he arrived midway through last season. A fresh start and a full training camp with the team is something that will surely benefit him. Building chemistry with Luka is essential for any success the Mavs will have this year. I have Irving knocking down at least 3 threes against San Antonio on Wednesday — he has really played well against them over the last 4 meetings, knocking down 6, 3, 4 and 3 threes on an unreal 64% efficiency. Let’s also not forget that the 2nd highest-scoring game of his entire career came against San Antonio when he scored 57 points as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers. In his final preseason game, Irving went 4-for-10 from downtown against Detroit. I’m confident he can do so here as well.

Luka Doncic to Record 8+ Rebounds (-170)

Luka’s rebounding was very consistent last season as he finished the year averaging 8.6 per game in 66 games played. Similarly to Kyrie, the Spurs are one of his favorite opponents. He’s averaging 9 boards per game in the last 5 meetings, so there’s a good chance those trends will continue on Wednesday. I mentioned the Mavs’ issues on the interior – right now they have Maxi Kleber, Dwight Powell and 19-year-old Dereck Lively II as their big men, which means Doncic’s role could expand on the glass until they figure things out. Last season, San Antonio played the fastest pace in the NBA, averaging 101.6 possessions per game, and that kind of style usually results in more shooting opportunities and rebounds. Let’s hope Doncic can benefit from that in his season debut.
