Milwaukee Bucks +7.5 over Boston Celtics (-114)

Milwaukee Bucks fans are hyped up, even after a loss against the Atlanta Hawks in their most recent game. That’s because Khris Middleton is about to make his season debut on Friday against the Boston Celtics. Friday’s game will be a tough one as the Bucks have lost 5 in a row at TD Garden, but they won’t be lacking any optimism after this most recent 7-game win streak which got snapped by Atlanta on Wednesday.

Both meetings between these teams earlier this season were highly contested and I expect nothing less in Friday’s game. Giannis Antetokounmpo has been locked in for a while now and getting back Middleton only adds to the Bucks’ chances of pulling off the upset here. Milwaukee is holding teams to under 30% shooting from downtown in their last 3 games, and if they can do something like that here they have every chance against the defending champions. I’m backing the Bucks to cover.

Giannis Antetokounmpo to record 6+ assists (-110)

Giannis and Damian Lillard were the 2 lone bright spots in Wednesday’s defeat to the Atlanta Hawks. The Greek Freak has now finished with at least 6 assists in 8 of his last 10 games while averaging 7.9 per game during this stretch. In head-to-head meetings, this bet has cashed 60% of the time over the past 10 games played. Adding a weapon like Middleton on offense gives Giannis an additional option to pass the ball to, which should help take the scoring load off of him slightly moving forward. We just saw the 23rd-ranked offense (Detroit) get 27 assists against the Celtics in their last game, which is a good sign if you’re backing Antetokounmpo here. In his last visit to TD Garden, Giannis had a monster stat line of 25 points, 20 rebounds and 9 assists. Getting to 6 dimes shouldn’t be too difficult here.

Jayson Tatum to record 8+ rebounds (-160)

Jayson Tatum sat out Wednesday’s game against Detroit, which should give him fresh legs for Friday’s game. His rebounding has been very consistent over the past month or so – he’s currently on a run of 9 straight games with at least 8 rebounds. Playing small ball and launching all those threes has increased the pace of the Celtics a bit, resulting in better rebounding numbers across the board. Tatum is one of the players who has benefited the most from this, since the Celtics play a smaller line-up. He should be able to get to his numbers as Milwaukee ranks only 19th in opponent rebounds this year, allowing 52.8 per game. He’s averaging 7.5 rebounds in the last 10 head-to-head, while this season he’s cleared this line in both meetings collecting 12 and 8 rebounds.
