Philadelphia 76ers +4 over New York Knicks (-112)
The defensive game plan for Philadelphia needs to revolve around slowing down Jalen Brunson and making other players beat them. 76ers head coach Nick Nurse is a former NBA champion and should be able to find a way to put his players in the best position to win. With their backs against the wall, I believe in Tyrese Maxey and Joel Embiid playing a better game. Kyle Lowry hasn’t scored much in this series but has been a factor in non-box score stats such as hustle and being a nuisance to the Knicks. Nick Nurse may rely on the point guard he coached for his championship run to slow down and annoy Brunson. In a must-win game, I’m siding with the 76ers and the points in Game 5.

Joel Embiid over 1.5 made threes (-150)
Embiid has cleared this line in 3 of the 4 games so far, and I don’t think we should be discouraged by his 1-for-6 effort from downtown in Game 4. Playing 44 minutes and not resting at all in the 2nd half on a recently surgically repaired knee isn’t the best of ideas, so I blame Nick Nurse for that performance. The 76ers should be smarter in Game 5 and with a couple of days of rest in between games, Embiid should get his bounce back. I’m expecting him to continue letting it fly from downtown. With their backs against the wall, the Sixers have know they need to put on a big performance. Embiid is averaging 7.5 attempts from distance in the series, so I’m confident he’ll make at least a couple of shots if he sticks to his averages.

Josh Hart over 12.5 rebounds (+104)
Josh Hart scored just 4 points without making a field goal in 46 minutes on Sunday, and I’d still argue he was the 2nd best player for the Knicks on that day. The Swiss Army Knife finished the game with a whopping 17 rebounds, 5 of which came at the offensive end. His play really helped the Knicks overcome the foul trouble Isaiah Hartenstein was in, plus the absence of Mitchell Robinson, who isn’t expected to play on Tuesday either. Hart has logged at least 42 minutes in each of the 4 games so far, and that type of endurance will always result in decent numbers, especially when the player puts in the effort like he does.
The 76ers are really struggling to rebound the ball, and Embiid’s knee isn’t allowing him to go for loose balls the way he could prior to getting hurt. In the last 3 games, the Knicks have averaged 54 rebounds per game — for comparison, the Memphis Grizzlies allowed 53.8 rebounds per game in the regular season which was the 2nd-highest mark in the entire NBA. I have Hart clearing this line for the 4th time in 5 games tonight.
