Vancouver Canucks ML over New Jersey Devils (+105)
The Vancouver Canucks head to New Jersey on Monday night to play the Devils on the second leg of a back-to-back. The Canucks have looked good of late, as before their game on Sunday they had won 4 of their last 5 games and find themselves only 5 points out of a playoff spot. The Devils, on the other hand, have lost 3 of their last 4 games, and are now in last place in the Metropolitan Division.
Offensively, the Devils have a small edge as they rank higher in goals per game and expected goals per game. However, don’t count out the Canucks attack as they just put up 7 goals on Thursday night against the number 1 defense, the Flames. Defensively, the Canucks are just the better team. They rank around average in expected goals against and top 10 in goals against per game. The Devils rank bottom 5 in goals against per game and projected starter for the Devils, Jon Gillies, ranks 99th in goals saved above expected. Look for the Canucks to exploit the Devils’ defense and place your bet on the Canucks money line.

Toronto Maple Leafs -1.5 over Washington Capitals (+185)
The Toronto Maple Leafs wrap up a 2-game road trip on Monday when they play the Washington Capitals. After a 3-game losing streak, the Maple Leafs have turned it around with back-to-back wins, which included a wild 10-7 win over the Red Wings on Saturday. The Capitals have been struggling, losing 5 of their last 8 games, with 2 of those losses coming against the Senators and Flyers, who rank 12th and 13th in the Eastern Conference, respectively.
Defensively, there is no major edge either way as both teams are borderline top-10. However, the Maple Leafs hold the advantage on the attack. It’s not like the Capitals are bad by any stretch, as they rank top 13 in both expected goals for and goals for per game, it’s just the Maple Leafs rank top 5 in both those categories and have the best powerplay in the league. It also doesn’t help that the Capitals have only scored 12 goals in their last 5 games. Look for the Maple Leafs’ offense to overwhelm the Capitals and take Toronto on the puck line.
Los Angeles Kings ML over Boston Bruins (+105)
The Boston Bruins’ 3rd game of their 6-game road trip puts them in Los Angeles to play the Kings on Monday night. Both teams come into this game with solid winning streaks, as the Bruins have won their last 4 games, while the Kings have won their last 5. This game will come down to offense and goaltending, with the Kings having the advantage in both categories. Defensively, these are two of the best teams in the league, with both teams ranking in the top 7 in goals against per game and top 13 in expected goals against, with the Bruins ranking 1st in that category.
Goaltending gives a small edge to the Kings. Projected starter for the Kings, Jonathan Quick, ranks 7th in goals saved above expected, whereas projected starter for the Bruins, Jeremy Swayman, ranks 21st. Offensively, the Kings rank higher in both goals for per game and expected goals for per game, ranking 6th to the Bruins 14th. Lean on the home team with the better ability to produce offensively and between the pipes and place your wager on the Kings money line.
