EPL pick today: Newcastle ML over Leicester City (-290), 3:00 pm ET
Newcastle and Leicester meet in a key EPL game this afternoon that could have a big impact at both ends of the standings. The Magpies won the teams’ first meeting this season 3-0 on the road and have been in good scoring form at home over the last few weeks. They have won 5 of their last 6 there, scoring 17 goals and allowing just 6.
Leicester’s defense is its biggest weakness and the Foxes have given up 41 goals on the road. Because these 2 teams are going opposite directions, backing Newcastle to win will be our play.

MLB pick today: Texas Rangers ML over Pittsburgh Pirates (-138), 6:35 pm ET
This evening in Pittsburgh will feature a pitching matchup between Dane Dunning and Luis Ortiz. Dunning started this season in the bullpen and had a 1.77 ERA with a 0.836 WHIP in 8 appearances and was soon promoted back to the rotation when Jacob deGrom was injured. He has made the most of his opportunities in his return as a starter; in 3 appearances he has accumulated a 2-0 record with a 1.59 ERA.
The Pirates, on the other hand, are in an extended slump. They have lost 14 of their last 18 games and have a team batting average of just .210 in that span. Their offense will need to pick it up with Ortiz on the mound since he will need a lot of run support in order for them to stay competitive. In 2 starts this season, Ortiz has given up 9 runs, 14 hits and 5 walks in 8.0 innings. This pitching matchup clearly favors the Rangers tonight, therefore backing the Rangers to pick up the win is our best bet.

MLB pick today: Toronto Blue Jays vs Tampa Bay Rays (+102), 6:40 pm ET
Tonight’s starter for the Blue Jays, Chris Bassitt, had a rough start to his debut with his new team. He was shelled for 9 runs in just 3.1 innings to the Cardinals, but he has completely turned it around in the last few weeks. In his last 3 starts, Bassitt has thrown 23.0 scoreless innings against the Pirates, Braves and Yankees. He has also allowed just 9 hits in that span as hitters have a .123 batting average against him.
Tampa Bay will employ its opener strategy tonight with Trevor Kelly set to get the start. The reliever has made 4 appearances this season, including 1 start, and has allowed 5 runs and 6 hits in 6.0 innings. While he won’t pitch many innings, the Blue Jays should be able to take advantage while he is on the mound. For that reason, backing the Blue Jays to win tonight is the way to go.

NBA pick today: Denver Nuggets ML over Los Angeles Lakers (+132), 8:30 pm ET
The Denver Nuggets are just a win away from making it into the NBA Finals for the first time in franchise history. The Nuggets have won 4 of their last 5 meetings against the Lakers, and tonight they will be going for their first ever sweep in a playoff series.
This series will be decided by Denver and whether or not they prefer to lift the Western Conference trophy on the road or back at home in front of their home fans in Game 5. If they are smart, they will look to end things tonight. The Nuggets have simply been the more dominant team, therefore backing them to close out this series is the move.
