MLB pick today: Cleveland Guardians ML over New York Yankees (-150), 6:10 pm ET
The Yankees battle the Guardians in an old rivalry renewed. The Guardians are starting 2020 Cy Young winner Shane Bieber. Bieber is Cleveland’s ace and has been pitching like one in 2 starts this year. He has a 2.25 ERA with 10 strikeouts yet no wins or losses.
The Guardians have the pitching advantage in tonight’s game and probably will have the pitching advantage in a lot of their games this year. So far they are averaging 4.8 runs per game and have a .250 batting average. With the pitching advantage and some run support, backing the Guardians will be our play.

MLB pick today: Miami Marlins ML over Philadelphia Phillies (-120), 6:40 pm ET
The Marlins are not off to a good start and it is the same old story, just not enough offense. Miami’s Sandy Alcantara was brilliant in his last start, a complete game shutout of the Twins. He is the rare pitcher that you can back in pretty much any situation, against any lineup.
Meanwhile, lefty Matt Strahm is getting the start for the Phillies. He has 1 start and 1 relief appearance so far so he is hard to count on just yet. Because the Phillies have struggled to start the season, backing Miami to win will be our play.

NHL pick today: Carolina Hurricanes 3-Way ML over Ottawa Senators (-115), 7:00 pm ET
Don’t look now, but the Hurricanes are in as close to a must-win situation as a division-leader can be. They may have secured their playoff spot, but they have not been playing their best hockey. Carolina should take some comfort knowing that they are facing a Senators team that they’ve already defeated twice this season, and who has struggled to score against them.
Carolina continues to allow the fewest shots per game, so with an extra emphasis on keeping Ottawa’s Brady Tkachuk in check, the Hurricanes should storm back into the win column.

NHL pick today: Dallas Stars 3-Way ML over Detroit Red Wings (-115), 7:00 pm ET
The Stars are coming off one of their biggest wins of the season, taking down the Pacific Division-leading Vegas Golden Knights. Dallas is 7-2-1 in their last 10 games and have allowed just a single goal in each of their last 3 games, all of which were wins.
With these squads being in different conferences, they don’t play often, but the Stars did win their only other matchup this season. In fact, they’ve won each of the last 4 meetings. With much more to play for on Dallas’ side of things, backing them to win tonight will be our play.
