MLB pick today: Boston Red Sox -1.5 over Colorado Rockies (-134), 7:10 pm ET
The Rockies will face their third straight lefty as James Paxton will take the mound for the Red Sox this evening. After 5 starts, Paxton has a 3.81 ERA paired with a 3.99 xERA and an excellent 33% strikeout rate. His most recent start came against the Guardians, who rank 29th in wRC+ against lefties, and he went 7 innings and allowed just 2 runs and 6 hits while racking up 9 strikeouts. The Rockies are terrible against left-handed pitching, so for that reason, backing them on the run line will be our play.

MLB pick today: Texas Rangers ML over Los Angeles Angels (-156), 8:05 pm ET
The Rangers head home tonight to face the Angels in what should be a bounce-back series after winning just 1 of 3 games against the Rays. Being at home and facing lefty Tyler Anderson gives them a huge advantage as they have a 173 wRC+ against southpaw pitching at home in the last month.
Los Angeles enters this game as winners of 6 of their last 7, but most of those games came against the Cubs and Mariners, who are in a downward spiral. The Rangers are on a completely different level because of their offense, so for that reason, backing the Rangers to win will be our play.

NBA pick today: Miami Heat +8.5 over Denver Nuggets (-110), 8:30 pm ET
No game in this series has been won by the home team since Game 1. The Nuggets won and covered a 3-point spread in both games in Miami and the talent disparity showed. That being said, Miami can make adjustments to get back to the offensive stats that won them Game 2, the only game of the series when they scored 100+ points.
Jimmy Butler and Bam Adebayo will likely each play 48 minutes in this game and even if Miami cannot pull off the incredible upset to extend this series, it would be surprising if they can’t keep this game competitive for 4 quarters. For that reason, backing the Heat to keep this game within 9 points will be our play.

MLB pick today: Miami Marlins ML over Seattle Mariners (+106), 9:40 pm ET
The Marlins should have the advantage thanks to their pitching heading into tonight’s game against the Mariners. The Marlins will start Jesus Luzardo, a lefty who is having a strong season, especially when it comes to strikeout numbers.
Seattle will counter with Bryce Miller, who has given up a combined 15 runs in his last 2 starts. Because the Marlins have the pitching advantage tonight and also have the better offense, backing them to win will be our play.
