The dust is still settling from Tuesday’s trade deadline which saw some big name players join contenders. The middle of the week gives you a great MLB slate to enjoy.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (+130) over Miami Marlins

Both the Phillies and Marlins made moves on Tuesday in attempt to bolster their roster for the stretch run of the season. Entering Wednesday, the Phillies have the second wild card spot while the Marlins are a game out of a playoff position. This is about the time of year last season when Philadelphia caught fire and things could shape up very similar in 2023.

The Phillies are 5-2 in their last 7 games and they are 14-6 in their last 20 games on the road. They have also had the Marlins’ number specifically over the past couple of seasons. They are 13-7 in their last 20 games against Miami and 8-3 in the last 11 games played on the road against the Marlins. The Marlins have slid to a 4-12 record in their last 16 games. The Phillies look good to take this one and potentially run up the score.

Texas Rangers -1.5 (+140) over Chicago White Sox

The Rangers were a very active team in the trade market as they look to turn around a recent rough patch. While they are 2-5 in their last 7 games, the Rangers have won 8 out of their last 10 games at home. They also gets a favorable matchup against a bad White Sox team. Things have been very ugly for the White Sox and their roster is even more depleted after the trade deadline. They will have an uphill battle in most of their remaining games this season and Wednesday is no exception.

The White Sox have lost 8 out of their last 10 games and 6 out of their last 7 games on the road. Against the Rangers specifically, the White Sox have dropped 7 out of the last 10 head-to-head dating back to June of last season. If the Rangers are going to capitalize on their deadline and make a playoff run, they absolutely have to beat teams like the White Sox.

Arizona Diamondbacks vs San Francisco Giants under 8 (-108)

Back to the well on an Arizona-San Francisco under. The under is just rolling for both the Diamondbacks and Giants. Low totals have been common for each of these teams individually and head-to-head all season as well as recently. Both the Diamondbacks and Giants have pitched well while also not exactly lighting up the scoreboard offensively. That is a good recipe for low totals.

The total has gone under in 8 out of the Giants’ last 9 games and in 11 out of their last 12 at home. The under has also hit in 6 out of the Diamondbacks’ last 7 games. In their respective last 10 games, the over-under record is 4-16 in those combined 20 games. Until or unless trends change with the Diamondbacks and Giants, low totals have been cashing and continue to be a reliable play.
