Today’s MLB slate has 14 different games to choose from, and most contests begin before 7 PM ET. I’ve crafted a mega parlay with +798 odds, and the first game doesn’t start until 4:10 PM ET, so you still have plenty of time to fade or follow any of my picks.
Let’s dive into today’s MLB parlay picks featuring the Mariners vs Red Sox, Pirates vs Astros and Athletics vs Giants. You can also check out all our MLB picks on Wednesday, July 31, if you want to bet on the earlier slate!
Mariners ML (-115) vs Red Sox
Astros -2.5 (+160) vs Pirates
Athletics vs Giants Over 7.5 Runs (-118)
MLB parlay odds: +798
For today’s MLB parlay picks, I am going with a bet on the Mariners and Astros to win, along with the Athletics vs Giants game finishing with 8+ runs. Let’s break down each of the three legs.
Seattle Mariners ML (-115) vs Boston Red Sox
The Seattle Mariners and Boston Red Sox will finish their three-game series Wednesday afternoon, and I expect the visitors to escape Fenway with a series win. After falling 14-7 in the opener, the Mariners bounced back with a 10-6 victory against Boston starter James Paxton, who just re-joined the Red Sox last week before the trade deadline. Now, George Kirby will toe the rubber, and the righty has pitched 6.0 innings and allowed 2 earned runs or less in nine of his last 11 starts.
Bryan Bello will start for Boston, and even though the young pitcher has a 10-5 record, his ERA is 5.27. Additionally, Bello has allowed at least 3 earned runs in eight of his last 10 starts. He faced this Seattle team to open the season, and although he picked up a win, he needed six runs of support. Expect the better pitcher to dominate today and back Seattle as the first leg in my MLB parlay.
Houston Astros -2.5 (+160) vs Pittsburgh Pirates
The Houston Astros are just one game back in the American League West, but the Pittsburgh Pirates haven’t made things easy for them and aim to sweep the series with a win tonight. However, the Astros will roll out Framber Valdez, who is 9-5 with a 3.43 ERA this season. Valdez has been on fire in July, going 3-0 in four starts and allowing just 6 total earned runs. He most recently shut out the LA Dodgers 5-0 while tallying 10 strikeouts. After losing two straight, I expect him to show up big for Houston.
On the flip side, the Pirates will roll out Jake Woodford, who is 0-2 with a 10.80 ERA. He allowed seven earned runs in 4.0 innings against the Red Sox back in June, and I have no confidence he’ll be able to stop a Houston lineup in dire need of a win to stay in the playoff race. The Astros are 11-7 when Valdez starts, but nine of those wins were by 3+ runs, so I’ll back Houston to win big tonight.
Oakland Athletics vs San Francisco Giants Over 7.5 Runs (-118)
Today’s final pick in my MLB parlay features the last game of the night between the Oakland Athletics and San Francisco Giants. Oakland’s Ross Stripling will get the start, and the right-hander is making just his second start since returning from injury. Although he picked up a 6-5 win in his return, he allowed 5 earned runs, and I don’t expect that to suddenly change tonight.
The Giants are starting Logan Webb, and the National League All-Star has struggled since the break. He gave up 4 earned runs in 5.0 innings against the Dodgers and another 4 earned runs in 6.0 innings against the Rockies. Both pitchers are struggling too much for a total this low, so I’ll gladly back the over in San Francisco to close out my MLB parlay.
