Dodgers -1.5 (+110)

For today’s MLB parlay picks, I am going with a bet on the Phillies and Dodgers to win their games by multiple runs, plus the Tigers and Guardians to go under the total. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 over Minnesota Twins (+114)

To start off our MLB parlay, I’m going with the Philadelphia Phillies on the run line. While Aaron Nola was not sharp in his first start after the break, he did gradually get better as the game went along. I expect a more buttoned-up outing from Nola (3.38 xERA) on Wednesday, which points me in the direction of Philadelphia to win by multiple runs.

On the other side, the Twins are in a bit of a pitching crunch, as they’ll be filling the spot vacated by Chris Paddock. Minnesota will deploy a lefty opener in Steven Okert, followed by David Festa. The goal with starting the southpaw Okert is to navigate through Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper, then it is on to Festa in relief. Festa has made a pair of starts this season for the Twins, and neither of them turned out well. I have a very hard time seeing him finding much success, and if the Phillies can get on the board early, it wouldn’t be surprising to see Minnesota attempt to rest the bullpen in an attempt to live to fight another day. I’m going with the Phillies to secure a comfortable win to kickstart this MLB parlay.

Detroit Tigers vs Cleveland Guardians Under 7.5 (-115)

For the second leg in our MLB parlay, I’m going with the under in this AL Central clash between the Detroit Tigers and Cleveland Guardians. I’ve backed Jack Flaherty on multiple occasions this season and I see no reason to go away from the veteran right-hander in this spot, especially since his expected metrics (2.95 xERA, 4.3% walk rate, 32.4% strikeout rate) continue to be extremely strong. Furthermore, Flaherty gets to face off against a Cleveland lineup that has been struggling mightily of late. Cleveland is 3-9 over its last 12 games while averaging less than 3 runs per game in that span, which doesn’t bode well against a pitcher of Flaherty’s caliber. Additionally, Guardians starter Tanner Bibee holds a 3.58 ERA (3.50 xERA) and 1.11 WHIP through 20 starts. The under looks attractive here, so let’s attack it in our MLB parlay.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over San Francisco Giants (+110)

To close out this MLB parlay, I’m backing the Los Angeles Dodgers on the run line in this NL West clash. Don’t look now, but the Dodgers look like a completely different team coming out of the all-star break. Los Angeles is in the midst of a 5-game winning streak while averaging over 5 runs per game across the past 8 contests. The pitching staff hasn’t been perfect, but Tyler Glasnow has largely been excellent all season long (2.49 xERA, .192 xBA, .251 xWOBA) and should put his team in position to collect a series-clinching victory. Glasnow getting the ball sets up well for the Dodgers in this one, especially since the Giants offense was stagnant once again in Tuesday’s defeat, posting fewer than 3 runs for the second straight contest. Let’s get to the window with Los Angeles on Wednesday.
