The MLB season is officially in full swing and we have another great slate on Wednesday with a bunch of interesting matchups. And what better way to celebrate than by going for a big payday? That’s right, we’re back with another mega parlay. I just hit this mega parlay at +1156 on Monday; now let’s make it two days out of three!
We’re going big and bold again, so let’s not waste any more time. But before we dive in, don’t forget to check out our free picks on the side and total for every MLB game today.
Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+150)
Oakland Athletics ML (+108)
Minnesota Twins ML (+110)
Parlay odds: +992
Let’s break down each of the legs one by one.
Los Angeles Angels -1.5 (+150) over Tampa Bay Rays
Give me the Angels on the run line to start off this mega parlay. There is never a bad time to back Shohei Ohtani, who has a whopping 41 strikeouts in just 26.1 innings this season. And he’s got an offense that is scorching hot right now backing him up. On Tuesday night they scored 12 runs in a shutout victory over the Rays, and that was just a continuation of the night before. On Monday they won 11-3.
They have won 6 of their past 7 games and 3 of those victories have been shutouts. The Rays are floundering a bit, only producing 4 total runs across their past 3 games. Tampa has played a pretty soft schedule and when they’ve played tougher teams, for the most part they’ve lost. The Angels aren’t getting enough credit for being 21-11 and in first place in the AL West, and the Rays’ bullpen isn’t what it used to be.
Oakland Athletics ML (+108) over Detroit Tigers
For our next leg we have the A’s on the money line. Any time you can get plus-money to fade a Tigers team that is just 9-21 on the year you pretty much have to do it. To say that Detroit’s offense has been anemic would be a pretty big understatement. Detroit has lost seven of its past eight games and has somehow managed to not score more than two runs in any of those losses.
Across their past three defeats they have mustered just one total run while getting shutout twice. Something tells me that’s not going to cut it here given who they’re starting on the mound. Joey Wentz will toe the rubber for his major league debut here. Making his first big league start with that kind of offense backing him up is a brutal situation to be in. Incredibly, only one member of Detroit’s lineup has an OPS above .668 — Austin Meadows at a still not that impressive .773.
Minnesota Twins ML (+110) over Houston Astros
To wrap up this mega parlay and hopefully bring us home, we have the Twins on the money line. It’s not every day that you get to take a team that’s 14-4 in their last 18 as a home underdog. Minnesota has been on fire the past few weeks, surging into first place in the AL Central. Chris Archer has been part of that success, as he’s been very solid this season with a 3.26 ERA. The Astros have been winning a bunch of games over the past week, but their offense has still been hardly inspiring.
Even after their recent surge they still rank 27th in the league in batting average and 18th in OPS. They have also been beneficiaries of a soft schedule. They have had success against teams like the Tigers and Rangers recently but have struggled against the likes of Toronto and the Angels.
