Wednesdays mark the series finale for many of the ongoing series, and also provide plenty of baseball throughout the entire day. With most of the teams in action, we have a lot of options to put together a parlay with a great payout. Let’s take a look at which teams we can capitalize on before they use tomorrow to either rest or travel. Along with this mega parlay, be sure to check out our thoughts on the side and total for all of today’s games.
Dodgers vs Nationals 1st 5 innings Over 4.5 (-105)
Phillies -1.5 (+185)
Red Sox/White Sox Over 8 (-105)
Parlay odds: +986
Let’s take a closer look at each leg of our mega parlay.
Dodgers vs Nationals 1st 5 innings Over 4.5 (-105)
If this series has taught us anything, it’s that these teams do not waste any time in putting runs on the board. With the way Mookie Betts has been hitting, he may start the scoring on the first pitch of the game. Even if he doesn’t hit another home run, yesterday’s 1st inning ended with 5 total runs. We have all 5 innings to cash this leg, a span that had 11 total runs in Tuesday’s game. The series opener on Monday began the same way, with 6 total runs by the end of 5 frames.
That opening game had the Dodgers doing all of the damage, and may be the case again today. The Nationals are putting Erick Fedde on the mound for the series finale, and he has not been particularly great this season. He’s been pulled before the 5th inning twice already this month, which only helps the Dodgers even more with the Nationals’ poor bullpen that has a 4.19 ERA. Even if Fedde doesn’t completely collapse, this is more about how potent L.A.’s lineup has been. Not only are they leading the league in runs scored, they’re number 1 in runs per game in the 1st 5 innings as well. Expect them to continue that trend this afternoon.

Philadelphia Phillies -1.5 (+185) over Atlanta Braves
After the Braves evened up this series last night, the Phillies will be looking to guarantee at least a series split before heading into tomorrow’s finale. Not only is there value in the fact that they are underdogs, but in the fact that they can pull off the upset in dominating fashion. They were able to do so in the series opener with a 4-run victory and should be able to do the same today. Despite the expectations for the Braves this season, it’s been the Phillies lineup that has been more consistent.
Bryce Harper may not be in the field due to his injury, but it has not affected his hitting whatsoever. He nearly led the Phillies to an even bigger upset last night with his 2-run home run and 4 RBI. He’s been a primary factor in the Phillies scoring 196 runs on the season, the 8th-most in the league. Meanwhile, the Braves are sitting with 176 runs, good for just the 18th-highest total. That run discrepancy should come into play with this run line prediction. The Phillies are more than capable of getting to Braves starter Charlie Morton. His 4.95 ERA leaves a lot to be desired, and Philly even produced off of Atlanta’s closer, Kenley Jansen, last night. Whether they build a lead early, or come back late, the Phillies have the bats to win by multiple runs.

Boston Red Sox vs Chicago White Sox Over 8 (-105)
It would be quite easy to simply refer back to last night’s game where there were 19 total runs scored. While that certainly supports this leg of the parlay, we shouldn’t expect anything that crazy again. But it did prove that the big names in the Red Sox lineup are finally starting to produce up to their expectations. Not only are their perennial hitters performing, newcomer Trevor Story is on an absolute tear.
Just when it seems like he should cool off, he continues to heat up. In the last 5 games, he has 6 home runs and a ridiculous 17 RBI. Along with Rafael Devers and Xander Bogaerts, who have been consistent throughout the year, Boston’s lineup has finally woken up. If Lucas Giolito seems like he could be an issue, keep in mind that last night’s performance was against Dylan Cease, who has been great this season. Even if you don’t want to have faith in the Red Sox, no worries. The White Sox will be hitting against 42 year-old lefty, Rich Hill. For all of Chicago’s struggles this season, they still mash lefties. With the league’s 3rd-highest OPS against such pitchers, either of these Sox teams can get over this total tonight.
