There’s no football to bail us out tonight, people. We’re over a month away from MAC-tion, so we’ll need to stick with MLB. Here’s the thing though. We’re battle tested. We’ve been betting this game for months now. We can do it for a few more weeks. At some point soon there’s going to be NBA and college hoops as well. We’re moving into the best part of the year. I say we drop a same game parlay on the Philadelphia Phillies and Atlanta Braves tonight to celebrate. Here’s what I have in mind.
Before you read on, why not follow me on Twitter real quick? It makes sense. I don’t always have time to post articles on Pickswise, but that doesn’t mean you should miss them. I would actually hate it if you did.
Zack Wheeler 9+ strikeouts (+310)
Freddie Freeman to record 2+ hits (+150)
Parlay odds: +987
Zack Wheeler 9+ strikeouts (+310)
Let me tell you people a little bit about Zack Wheeler. He can get 9+ strikeouts tonight. He just hit this number in his last start and while that was against the Baltimore Orioles, it still counts (kind of). Tonight he gets the Atlanta Braves so they’ll be tougher to sit down, but this is still doable. Over the last 7 days the Braves have been borderline whiffers. In their last 180 at-bats they’ve struck out 52 times, so they are pretty sus (please let me know if I’m too old to use that word. It felt right but I can always go back to suspect) at the moment. Charlie Morton should come up to the plate twice with an upside of three times, which is a bonus. He’s struck out 30 times in 54 at-bats this season. We need all the Morton we can get. I like this at +310.

Freddie Freeman to record 2+ hits (+150)
Freddie Freeman is a god at the plate right now. Going through his game logs you have to start wondering how this team ever loses. The guy just hits the ball all the time. In his last 8 games he’s had 2+ hits in 4 of them. In 2 of those games he had 3 hits. What a machine. We know batter vs pitcher numbers doesn’t matter but in 44 career at-bats against Wheeler, Freeman has notched 20 hits. That’s pretty good even though it doesn’t matter. Given that FanDuel gives us a little odds boost since we’re taking a pitcher’s strikeout total over and a guy on the other team to get 2+ hits, we should do this. There is no negative correlation (in my opinion) but we get the boost anyway. We should do this.
