Mariners -1.5 over Red Sox (+115)
Look no further than the pitching matchup to see that the edge here goes to the Mariners. Jake Pivetta is taking the mound for the Red Sox and that is immediate bad news for them. The right-hander is saddled with a 6.23 ERA and 6.67 xERA through 7 starts. In just 34.2 innings he has allowed 8 home runs to go along with 15 walks. Pivetta has been every bit as bad at home compared to on the road, so there is no reason to expect that he will suddenly shut down Seattle on Tuesday. Meanwhile, the M’s are countering with Luis Castillo. He is sporting a 2.70 ERA and only the best of the best lineups in baseball have done any damage against him. Boston’s bats are decent but not exactly elite. Castillo should get more than enough run support in this one.
Rays ML over Mets (+145)
At 20-22, the Mets have been one of the biggest disappointments in baseball this season. Their offense has been nonexistent, which is extremely surprising given that Pete Alonso and Francisco Lindor are stationed at the top of the lineup. New York is hitting an anemic .241 with a .704 OPS. The Mets are licking even more wounds heading into this series with league-leading Tampa Bay, as they got crushed by Patrick Corbin and the Nationals 10-3 on Monday. Justin Verlander is off to a decent enough debut with his new team after recovering from injury, but keep in mind that his 2 starts have come against Detroit and Cincinnati. The Rays’ lineup probably won’t be so generous. In fact, Tampa Bay has scored 29 runs in its last 4 games. Tampa Bay is going with a bullpen outing for this one, but the team was off on Monday so its arms are rested. Well into plus money, the Rays have great value.

Giants ML over Phillies (+100)
The Phillies have been good enough to put themselves in second place in the National League East, but that isn’t saying a lot. It’s mostly because the Mets have stunk. Philadelphia has hovered right around .500 pretty much the entire season and it has its work cut out for it to find the win column on Tuesday with Alex Cobb taking the mound for San Francisco. Cobb is 3-1 with a 1.70 ERA and 41 strikeouts to just 8 walks through 8 starts. Zack Wheeler is going for the Phillies and he has been solid but unspectacular (2-1, 3.80 ERA). This should be a good pitchers’ duel, and I will happily take San Fran at home as a slight underdog.
