Cleveland Guardians -1.5 over Chicago White Sox (-108)

The Guardians enter July with the best winning percentage in the American League and the 2nd-best winning percentage in all of MLB, and look to build on that against the White Sox. Despite their shaky and inconsistent starting production, Cleveland has relied on stellar bullpen pitching and a deep lineup. It will be interesting to see what starting pitching depth the Guardians look to add at the trade deadline, especially given Triston McKenzie’s demotion to Triple-A this week. They draw a matchup against Chris Flexen and the last-place White Sox tomorrow, a matchup in which they can continue their solid form.

Flexen and Carrasco are both pitchers worth fading, but the Guardians have sizable edges both in the later innings with their high-leverage arms and in their lineup that has produced against either handedness of pitching this season. Against right-handed pitching during the month of June, Cleveland ranked 10th in wOBA with a 118 wRC+, striking out at the 6th-lowest rate in that timeframe. In that same sample size, the White Sox have the 5th-lowest wOBA with a wRC+ of 79 and the 10th-highest K%. Let’s kick off our MLB parlay picks for today by taking the Guardians to win by multiple runs.

New York Mets -1.5 over Washington Nationals (+106)

Sean Manaea takes the mound for New York tonight, bringing a solid 3.89 ERA and an impressive 3.16 road ERA into the contest. The Mets’ offense has also shown signs of life lately, ranking 6th in runs per game. This potent combination could spell trouble for Nationals starter DJ Herz, who owns a bloated 5.48 ERA and has allowed at least 4 runs in 3 of his 5 career starts. This matchup sets up favorably for the Mets to cover the run line.

New York swept Washington in their last visit to Nationals Park, and after yesterday’s success, a similar result could happen here. The Nationals have struggled recently, losing 6 of their last 7 games, while the Mets are putting big numbers on the road. With the Mets’ superior pitching and offensive firepower, backing them to win by multiple runs offers excellent value as part of our MLB parlay picks.

New York Yankees -1.5 over Cincinnati Reds (-104)

Both New York and Cincinnati went 14-13 in the month of June, and both starting pitchers in today’s matchup have struggled in their last few outings. Taking the mound for the Yankees will be Luis Gil, who is 9-3 this season with a 3.15 ERA. In his last 2 starts against the Mets and Orioles, he has given up a combined 12 runs on 12 hits in just 5.2 innings pitched. As for the Reds, they’ll have Graham Ashcraft toeing the rubber, who is 4-4 this season with a 5.45 ERA. For Ashcraft, he has given up 10 earned runs on 15 hits in just 9 innings pitched.

Neither pitcher has been solid when taking the mound in their last few starts, so this game comes down to each team’s ability to hit the ball. The Yankees are averaging 5.25 runs per game over their past 12 games, while the Reds are averaging 4 runs per game over their last 13. This Yankees team has found itself in a funk, but all great teams struggle at some point throughout the season. Gil has been solid for the majority of his starts, and Aaron Judge and Juan Soto continue to swing a hot bat. I expect the Yankees’ offense to get things going against Ashcraft and to score in bunches, so let’s round off today’s MLB parlay picks by taking the Yankees -1.5.
