Do you know what’s fun? MLB parlays. Not just any parlays, we want a MLB parlay that include alternative run lines. They get juicy quick and seriously, are they that much harder to hit? For instance, if you think the Cincinnati Reds are going to smash the Chicago Cubs, why not just go -2 +150 instead of -1.5 +120? It makes sense if you ask me. Tonight, I’m attacking bad teams with bad bullpens for my MLB parlay. Bad pitching with no hitting seems like a great thing to be against. What could go wrong?
If this MLB parlay hits, it will go down as the greatest Tuesday in gambling history. But don’t forget, we also have picks on the side and total for all of today’s games. You can also follow me on Twitter just in case there’s a game or two added to the card. Be smart about this, people.

The Chicago Cubs have now lost 12 games in a row. That’s a lot. It’s to the point now that there is no hope whatsoever in that clubhouse. Even the guys that were good before they traded everyone away are bad now. A great example is tonight’s starter, Kyle Hendricks. He was 13-4 with a 3.68 ERA going into the last game. That’s not going to win a Cy Young but that’s respectable. Then he gave up 9 earned runs in 4 innings and the Cubs lost 17-4 to the Milwaukee Brewers. It was the most earned runs Hendricks had given up since July 26 when he let up 5 earned in only 4.1 innings against this Cincinnati Reds team.
Here’s the thing, even if Hendricks is decent, the Cubs can’t hit. They’ve got the sixth-worst OPS in MLB over the last 15 days. Their bullpen is guaranteed to give up runs as they are sporting a 10.44 ERA in the last 7 days, which is the worst in MLB. The Reds should roll these guys and get this MLB parlay started.

There is no better team in baseball in terms of OPS than the Toronto Blue Jays this season. It’s a big reason that only 5 teams have scored more runs than they have on the year. To go along with that offense, tonight they are sending Alek Manoah to the hill. Manoah will have the luxury of facing one of the weakest offense in baseball, the Washington Nationals.
Over the last week, the Nationals have scored fewer runs than any team in MLB and they are the only team that hasn’t hit a dinger in that span. That is so pathetic it’s not even funny. To counter Manoah, Washington is sending Erick Fedde to the bump and while he is not horrific, he’s close. He’s highly likely to give up multiple runs as he has given up at least 3 runs in 7 of his last 9 starts. When he’s done, the Nationals will trot out a bullpen that’s rocking a 7.09 ERA in the last 7 days. This could be a bloodbath and if it is, our MLB parlay will stay intact.

Tampa Bay Rays -2 (+110) *alt line
I don’t trust John Means anymore. Sure he had that sweet no-hitter against the Seattle Mariners earlier this season but this is a “what have you done for me lately” league. Since that no-no, Means has not been good. He’s actually been kind of bad. Not Matt Harvey bad, but bad nonetheless. After the no-hitter, Means has faced this same Rays team three times and the Orioles lost every one of those games by at least two runs.
Even if Means does turn in a decent night, the Orioles bullpen is highly likely to mess it up. In the last week they’ve got a 9.00 ERA which is second-worst in MLB in that span. With the way their low-T offense has been playing (6th-worst OPS in the last week), they can’t afford to have their pitchers be so generous. The Rays should roll these guys and cash our MLB parlay in the process.
