The week in Major League Baseball continues with a less-than-full 8-game slate on Thursday. It’s a typical Thursday, with many teams either idle or playing in the afternoon before hitting the road to begin new series elsewhere. Highlights of the schedule include Reds vs Cardinals, Red Sox vs Yankees and Rays vs Guardians, with the latter 2 airing live on FOX at 7:15 pm ET. We have picks from those matchups as part of today’s MLB parlay, while you can also find out our MLB picks for Thursday’s slate.

Yankees -1.5 (+112)

Rays ML (+124)

Brewers -1.5 (+130)

MLB parlay odds: +992

For this MLB parlay, I am going with 2 favorites on the run line and 1 underdog on the money line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.

New York Yankees -1.5 over Boston Red Sox (+112)

The Red Sox have faded out of the playoff race while the Yankees are battling for the American League East title and perhaps even the top seed in the postseason. Boston’s Cooper Criswell is assigned with trying to keep New York’s potent lineup in check today, but it will probably be a futile effort. Criswell just recently joined the starting rotation and has been on a limited pitching count. He has not thrown more than 80 pitches since mid-July. That is especially bad news for the Red Sox since they are saddled with one of the worst bullpens in Major League Baseball. Even though Nestor Cortes is nothing special for the Yankees, they should be able to bash their way to a big win.

Tampa Bay Rays ML over Cleveland Guardians (+124)

A brutal 10-game road trip continues for the Rays, who have already stopped in Baltimore and Philadelphia before now taking their talents to Cleveland. Tampa Bay got swept by the Phillies, but it’s not all bad news for this team. Most importantly, Ryan Pepiot is taking the mound tonight to face the Guardians. Pepiot (8-6, 3.66 ERA) compiled a 1.72 ERA in July and a 2.08 ERA in August, so he is throwing absolute darts these days. The right-hander went up against the O’s this past Saturday and surrendered just 1 run in 5.1 innings of work. The Guardians just swept the White Sox, but the White Sox are…the White Sox. Gavin Williams (3-8, 5.25 ERA) does not inspire any confidence, so Tampa Bay has good value as an underdog.

Milwaukee Brewers -1.5 over San Francisco Giants (+130)

The Brewers have alternated losses and wins dating back to last Friday, so if the trend continues then they should be in line for a victory in this series finale against San Francisco following Wednesday’s setback. Milwaukee is more than capable of keeping the trend going – and perhaps doing so in a big way. Frankie Montas has been solid since coming over from Cincinnati, logging at least 6.0 innings in each of his last 4 starts. William Contreras is on a 4-game hitting streak, one contest of which featured 3 hits and another with 2 base knocks. Contreras and the rest of the gang have to like their chances of victimizing Giants right-hander Hayden Birdsong (3-5, 5.19 ERA).
