New York Yankees -1.5 over Kansas City Royals (-105)
The Royals, who are one of the fun surprise stories of the season, have been in over their heads so far against the Yankees, losing 10-1 and 11-5. Kansas City is no doubt begging the Yankees to get out of town, and a similar comfortable win for New York is expected. for starters, the pitching matchup should heavily favor the Yankees. Nestor Cortes takes the hill for New York—he isn’t a Cy Young contender by any means, and he has had some ugly outings at times, but he is still the better pitcher in this matchup. Alec Marsh meanwhile has struggled. He has gotten knocked around hard in his last few outings and the underlying metrics say it should be worse. If it is going to get worse, a date with Judge, Soto, Stanton and crew is a good way to do it. All signs point to the Yankees being able to outscore the Royals with ease, so let’s roll with Yankees -1.5 to start our MLB parlay picks.

Miami Marlins vs New York Mets Over 8.5 (-115)
The Miami Marlins take on the New York Mets on Thursday in a battle of under-performing teams. I like the Mets to win this game, but they are currently -200 odds to win, which is a price too high for a team that has a sub-.500 winning percentage. Instead, the over looks a good bet to target. Mets starter Luis Severino did put up a gem in his last start against the Nationals, giving up just 1 earned run through 8 innings pitched. However, he gave up 10 earned runs in 14 innings pitched in his 3 starts prior, and even if he can string together another quality start, the Mets have a team ERA of 5.00 in their last 10 games. The bullpen may not be able to hold it together.
Marlins starter Rodder Munoz has yet to put up a quality start since May 1 this season. Although he has only had 4 starts so far this season, he gave up a whopping 11 earned runs in his past 2 starts. To make matters worse for the Marlins, they have one of the worst bullpens in the league, ranking 20th in ERA. They also have a team ERA of 5.46 in their last 10 games. The Mets have been mashing in their past 10 games with a .840 OPS and .293 batting average, and have also clobbered 12 home runs in that span. Pair that up with the Marlins’ poor pitching and the over becomes an enticing play.

Los Angeles Dodgers -1.5 over Texas Rangers (+110)
Taking the mound today for Los Angeles is left-hander Ryan Yarbrough, who has been effective out of the bullpen for most of the year, and even though he’s not a big strikeout pitcher, he is more than capable of giving the Dodgers a solid 3-4 innings before handing it over to their bullpen. For the Texas Rangers, they’ll be sending right-hander Michael Lorenzen to the mound, who is 3-3 this year with a 3.05 ERA. Lorenzen has been solid in his last few starts, giving up just 3 earned runs in 16.2 innings and striking out 12.
Looking at the Dodgers and Rangers stats, there’s one big difference that stands out between these two teams. In the Dodgers’ last 12 games, they have a team batting average of .276, belted 21 home runs and scored 70 runs. As for the Rangers, in their last 12 games they have a team batting average of .239 with 9 home runs and only 47 runs. There is a stark difference between these 2 teams and their offense, and despite the slight pitching advantage in favor of the Rangers today, facing players like Betts, Ohtani, Freeman and Smith is not going to be easy. Look for the Dodgers to secure the series win to wrap up today’s MLB parlay picks.
