The week in Major League Baseball continues with a small 8-game slate on Thursday. It’s getaway day for a whole host of teams, so there are 6 afternoon contests in advance of new series that begin on Friday. The early part of the schedule includes a showdown between the Braves and Cubs before the night session features Blue Jays vs Tigers and Orioles vs White Sox. Below is my MLB mega parlay for today, while you can also find out our MLB picks for each of Thursday’s matchups.
Pirates -1.5 (+136)
Yankees -1.5 (+146)
Padres -1.5 (+142)
MLB parlay odds: +1305
For this MLB parlay, I am going with 3 favorites on the run line. Let’s break down each of the 3 legs.
Pittsburgh Pirates -1.5 over San Francisco Giants (+136)
It’s a Paul Skenes day in Pittsburgh, which means get your popcorn ready. It might be wise to get your betting account ready, too, because backing Skenes looks like a profitable play. The right-hander out of LSU is off to a stellar start in his MLB career, compiling a 1-0 record and 2.70 ERA through 2 starts while making headlines with a consistent array of fastballs at 100 mph or faster. In his most recent appearance, Skenes held the Cubs without a hit in 6.0 innings of work while recording 11 strikeouts and walking only 1 batter during a 9-3 victory. The Pirates have won each of his 2 starts. Meanwhile, the Giants are just 24-26 and a horrendous 9-16 away from home. This should be a good opportunity for Skenes to continue cooking.

New York Yankees -1.5 over Seattle Mariners (+146)
Fueled by the usual suspects in Aaron Judge and Juan Soto, the Yankees took care of the Mariners 7-3 on Wednesday. Judge hit a 2-run homer in the first inning and Soto went deep twice. Seven runs were more than enough for New York and even fewer could be enough to get the job done on Thursday since Luis Gil is taking the mound. Gil is 5-1 with a 2.39 ERA so far this season. In his most recent outing against the White Sox, he pitched 6.0 innings of 1-run baseball with a whopping 14 strikeouts. For Seattle, Luis Castillo is a big name on paper but has only been mediocre in 2024 (4-5, 3.28 ERA). Against a Yankees lineup that is absolutely bashing the ball these days, Castillo could be in trouble.

San Diego Padres -1.5 over Cincinnati Reds (+142)
Neither San Diego’s Matt Waldron nor Cincinnati’s Frankie Montas has been especially productive this season, so this could be a high-scoring affair. And in high-scoring games, of course, the run line is generally easier to cover. I think the Padres can do it on Thursday. Waldron, the Padres’ 5th starter, has most recently been victimized by the Braves and Dodgers. He should have a much easier time against the struggling Reds, who are 28th in wOBA with a 77 wRC+ against right-handers across the last 30 days. In that same span, San Diego is 4th in wOBA with a 121 wRC+ against right-handers and Montas has surrendered at least 3 or more earned runs allowed in 4 of his last 6 starts. Give me the Padres to win by multiple runs.
