The 2022 MLB season continues on Friday, and we have another exciting slate of games to watch. One of the matchups features the Texas Rangers and New York Mets, starting at 7:10 pm ET on Apple TV+. The Rangers will be looking to build on a solid series, while the Mets hope to bounce back against an interleague foe.
What better way to celebrate this matchup than by betting a same game parlay? We have come up with a 2-leg parlay, which would pay out at over 2/1 odds with FanDuel Sportsbook. Let’s take a look at each of the legs.
New York Mets -1.5 (+106)
Pete Alonso to record an RBI (+100)

Texas Rangers vs New York Mets: Start time and how to watch
The Rangers and Mets start their series with a start time of 7:10 pm ET on Friday. The game is airing exclusively on Apple TV+. Let’s get into our same game parlay for this interleague matchup.
Mets -1.5 (+106)
To start off our same game parlay, we have the Mets on the run line. Even after a recent mediocre stretch, New York is still playing good baseball and leads the NL East. However, in order to extend their lead on the Braves, the Mets will need to play with a sense of urgency in what is a winnable series this weekend. Fortunately, they are taking on the Texas Rangers, who aren’t nearly the team the Houston Astros are. After having faced Framber Valdez and Justin Verlander, Texas will be starting Glenn Otto, who the Mets should enjoy hitting against compared to those 2 pitchers. And while the Rangers played well in their series against the Royals, the Mets are in a completely different class.
The Mets have been near the top of the league in runs scored for the majority of the last month. With David Peterson on the mound, New York should get 6 solid innings from their lefty, and hold a lead throughout the late innings en route to a comfortable win.

Pete Alonso to record a RBI (+100)
Honing in on correlating results is usually helpful when constructing a same game parlay. In this case, I think that a Mets victory coincides well with Pete Alonso picking up an RBI. Alonso has been on a tear of late, racking up 6 RBIs in his last 8 games. The first baseman has 69 RBIs this season, which leads an offense that is top-5 in baseball in runs scored. While some of his teammates have struggled, Alonso continues to produce with runners on base, and I think that trend continues on Friday.
The right-hander should see success against Otto, who has struggled with his command all season long, allowing 21 runs in his last 6 starts. As long as the top of the Mets lineup can get on base, Alonso should have multiple chances to cash this leg. At this price, I like backing the Mets best power hitter to come through in the clutch once again.
