AT 2:10pm ET today if you tune your television on to TBS, you’re going to see the Chicago White Sox host the New York Yankees. If you haven’t been paying attention, that series has been incredible so far–especially if you like runs and late-inning, high-leverage situations. Simply put, it’s the kind of series that makes you want to bet. By the way, that’s the highest praise I can give to any series in any sport. With that being said, it took me about 2 seconds to come up with what I think might be the best same game parlay that’s ever been created.

New York Yankees vs Chicago White Sox over 13.5 (+480) *alt line
I know you’re thinking 14 runs is a lot…but is it? In this series? In the first game they combined for 17. Yesterday they hung 12 on the board. These 2 teams are smashing baseballs at the moment and it is pure, electric entertainment. Why will today be any different than the other 2 games? The Yankees are sending Nestor Cortes Jr. to the hill today and he’s coming off a game in which he gave up 5 runs to the Kansas City Royals. Only 3 teams in MLB have scored fewer runs than the Royals so it’s not like they’re the White Sox. I don’t think a 10-spot is out of the question for Chicago today. Even if the White Sox don’t pump Cortes Jr., the Yankees could always put up runs on their side. They have 3 different guys who have all gone yard in their career against White Sox starter Lucas Giolito. We just need 1 team to start drilling the other so we can get a fire show going. At +480, why not take this?

Lucas Giolito 7+ strikeouts (-330)
The haters are going to say you can’t take a starter to get 7+ strikeouts in a game that you also think will go over 13.5. Those guys are wrong. It literally just happened the other night when Lance Lynn whiffed 7 of these Yankees in a game that ended 9-8. It’s not that crazy. Giolito has hit this number in 4 of his last 6 starts, so he’s in good form. He gets a Yankees team today that has struck out more than any team that has only played 6 games in the last 7 days–67 times in their last 214 at bats. That’s terrible. The thing is, they’ve still managed to score 32 runs in those 6 games despite all the strikeouts which is pretty respectable. Giolito could easily whiff 7 of these guys and still give up at least 4 runs.
