MLB Sunday same game parlay (+1073 odds): Houston Astros vs San Diego Padres

Luis Garcia Astros vs Padres

You’ve probably heard already but this is the last Sunday in 2021 without NFL football. While I’m happy, I’m also afraid that we are going to forget about MLB. Specifically, same game parlays on Sundays at 4:05pm ET. While that may happen in the future (next week), it won’t happen today. When the Houston Astros square off with the San Diego Padres at 4:05pm ET on MLB Network, I will be watching. I will also have this same game parlay riding.

Luis Garcia 7+ strikeouts (+240)

Chris Paddack 6+ strikeouts (+250)

Parlay odds: +1073

Luis Garcia 7+ strikeouts (+240)

I don’t normally target the San Diego Padres in the strikeout market but I will today. Especially on an escalator. It’s really not that crazy to think Garcia can get home on this number given the fact that he has done it 6 times in his last 9 starts. He has the added bonus of getting to pitch to another pitcher today since the Astros will be in a National League park. That pitcher is Chris Paddack who can’t hit for anything. He’s struck out 23 times in 32 at bats this season. He’s struck out at least twice in a game 7 times on the season and one time he whiffed 3 times. If he sticks around in this game, we could see a whiff show that will go a long way in getting Garcia to 7 strikeouts.

This is where things get a little crazy but is it? The Astros are in a National League park so they have to send their pitcher to the plate too. There is no way Luis Garcia can hit so you can pencil him in for at least 1 whiff. Since he is likely to go deep in the game, maybe we get 2. Paddack is very erratic which is why I would only play him in a parlay like this for .1 unit. The thing is, when he’s on, he can go for double digits. In his last 2 starts, he hit 5 and 6 respectively and once was against an American League team in the Padres’ park. At +250, this really isn’t that wild. I would have thought it would be closer to the +200 range.
