And it all comes down to this: the last day that all 30 teams will play in the regular season. Besides the Mets and Braves playing a double-header on Monday, this is the final day of the regular season — and there’s no better way to celebrate than with a parlay.
Here’s my final mega parlay of the regular season!
Padres ML (+158)
Mets -1.5 (+134)
Orioles ML (+116)
Parlay odds: +1204
San Diego Padres ML (+158) over Arizona Diamondbacks
The Diamondbacks came into this series needing to win at least 2 games to feel good about their postseason chances. However, they have lost both games so far and their hopes are starting to dwindle. Today is their final contest of the regular season and it’s a must-win game considering the Braves and Mets both have 3 games left (if necessary). With that said, it might be difficult considering they have to face Martin Perez tonight. The trade-deadline acquisition has been fantastic for the Padres following a mediocre first half with the Pirates. In 9 starts with San Diego, he’s 3-0 with a 2.61 ERA and has allowed 1 run or fewer in 4 of his last 5 starts. He is in the midst of the best stretch of his season, and he’s looking for one more quality start before the postseason begins. The Diamondbacks offense looks pretty weak right now, so I’ll take another shot at the Padres at plus odds.
New York Mets -1.5 (+134) over Milwaukee Brewers
Similar to the Diamondbacks, the Mets have had a poor last few days. They have lost both games to the Brewers so far and really need to win tonight since they have a double-header against the Braves tomorrow. Fortunately for New York, it has David Peterson on the mound; he boasts a 3.08 ERA this season and has been extremely valuable down the stretch. In fact, he has allowed 2 earned runs or fewer in 8 of his last 10 outings. This is an opportunity for the Mets to go into their double-header tomorrow with some momentum, and backing Peterson at this price is great value. The Brewers have nothing left to play for and could get caught sleep walking through this game and be looking ahead at the postseason next week.
Baltimore Orioles ML (+116) over Minnesota Twins
The Twins are in danger of being swept in their final series of the season. Minnesota’s postseason aspirations ended a few days ago and their lineup looks like they’re ready for the offseason. Minnesota has lost 6 of their last 7 games and managed just 7 hits in yesterday’s loss. There’s nothing left for the Twins to play for as Bailey Ober makes his 31st and final start of the season. Ober has been phenomenal all season but has looked a little fatigued recently as he’s allowed 11 earned runs, 18 hits, and 4 home runs in his last 18.2 innings against the Reds, Guardians, and Marlins. The Orioles look much better at the moment and have scored 16 runs in their last 2 games, so I’m willing to back the O’s at plus odds.
