After last night’s close game between the Cardinals and Red Sox, another one is expected on Saturday night. The Red Sox have been playing great recently, but are giving the start to more of an unknown in Kutter Crawford. The Cardinals Dakota Hudson has been solid, but they’re still taking on Boston in Fenway Park. With so many great hitters in this matchup, we can attack this game without even having to pick a side. Along with this same game parlay, be sure to check out our thoughts on the side and total for all of today’s games.

Cardinals – Over 4.5 total runs (-125)

JD Martinez 2+ total bases (-125)

Paul Goldschmidt 2+ total bases (-110)

Parlay odds: +370

Let’s take a closer look at each leg of our same game parlay.

Cardinals – Over 4.5 total runs (-125)

It took them all 9 innings, but the Cardinals were able to surpass this number in last night’s game. That has taken them to 316 runs on the season, the 5th-most in the league. They have 2 of the best hitters in Nolan Arenado and Paul Goldschmidt, who will also help as we continue our same game parlay. Regardless, they will be hitting against Kutter Crawford of the Red Sox today. He has just 1 start on the season after several relief appearances, and the Cardinals lineup is not one he should want to face in such an unfamiliar spot. St. Louis has hit this team total in 5 of their last 7 games, including once in a loss. With Boston’s success recently, this is the safer play. The Cards already proved they can hit the Sox bullpen last night, and should have a better head start towards this total today.

JD Martinez 2+ total bases (-125)

Having legs from each team in this same game parlay may seem counterintuitive, but we are not predicting a side. Both things can happen and it increases the odds for a better payout. While Rafael Devers gets most of the love for the Red Sox, JD Martinez is also having a great season. Devers leads the team in total bases as he also leads the league, but Martinez is 2nd on Boston with 122. Although overshadowed by a teammate, that is still the 14th-most in baseball. Martinez is also tied with Devers with 23 doubles this season, which is the most in the American League. Along with 8 home runs, he has the ability to cash this prop in just a single swing. His 7-game streak of hitting this prop was snapped last night, but he can start a new one tonight.

Paul Goldschmidt 2+ total bases (-110)

Just as Martinez is overshadowed by Devers, Paul Goldschmidt is often overlooked due to Nolan Arenado. However, it’s Goldschmidt leading the Cardinals in total bases with 152. That is good for the 3rd-most in the league, and his 83 hits are the 2nd-most. With 21 doubles and 16 home runs, he too has the ability to take care of this leg in just a single swing. He also just had a streak of getting 2 more bases stopped at 4 games. However, he was dominant in those games, racking up a ridiculous 24 total bases. That’s an average of 6 per game, and we need only 2 for this prop. Given that he has the luxury of facing an inexperienced starter today, Goldschmidt should add to his MVP-caliber season.
