Saturdays are special days. We all know that already but do you know how to make your Saturday just a little more special? That’s right, with a parlay. Not just any parlay though, a FanDuel same-game parlay and I think I may have found the perfect game. At 4:05pm ET the Oakland Athletics and Texas Rangers will square off on Fox Sports 1. It’s fun to back dominant pitchers and the Oakland Athletics’ James Kaprielian fits that description. He’s coming off his best performance of the season against the Boston Red Sox where he went seven innings in a 1-0 loss. He looked like a complete animal while striking out ten Red Sox that game even though he got zero runs support. Today the Rangers get Mark Foltynewicz and while they have lost to him two times in a row over the last three weeks, it’s hard to imagine that happening again today. Foltynewicz is the kind of guy who could get blown up in any start as evidenced by his 5.17 ERA. I like the Athletics’ bats to come alive today.
Joey Gallo to hit a home run (+290)
Just because I think James Kaprielian is an animal doesn’t mean he doesn’t give up dongs. Three of the eight he has given up all season have come to the Texas Rangers and while Joey Gallo has not got him yet, I think +290 is a great price for him to do it today. If Kaprielian has a weakness, it’s with left-handed batters. On the season, lefties have a .374 WOBA against him and are batting .274. Gallo has hit 14 dingers off right-handed pitchers this season and I think he tags another one today. The Athletics’ bullpen has given up 35 home runs in only 218 innings pitched this season so there is always a chance one of those guys slips up too. I think the Athletics take this one in a 6-3 type game that sees Gallo go deep at least once.
