Mookie Betts to record 2+ hits (+130)

Clayton Kershaw over 7.5 strikeouts (+130)

Dodgers -1.5 (-144)

Juan Soto to record a hit (-240)

Parlay odds: +1067

We have a four-leg parlay here, one which pays out just north of 10/1 with FanDuel Sportsbook.  Let’s break it down:

Mookie Betts to record 2+ hits (+130)

Betts is an ideal candidate for this wager.  First, he hits at the top of the order, which means he gets to the plate a lot.  Second, he has a ton of speed.  His wheels put pressure on opposing infielders making the infield hit a possibility at all times.  Third, he is seeing the ball well right now.  Betts went 2-for-5 with a double and two RBI’s in last night’s game, and on the season he is hitting .263 against right-handed pitching (compared to .213 against lefties).  Washington will send right-hander Paolo Espino to the mound in this one, and this will be his first time ever facing Betts.  Expect Mookie to get the best of that matchup.

Clayton Kershaw over 7.5 strikeouts (+130)

Kershaw is coming off a great month of June in which he punched out 47 hitters in 32.0 innings of work.  He is also coming off a season-high 13-strikeout performance against the Cubs, and he is generating a ton of swings-and-misses right now.  Kershaw has had success against the Nationals in his career, going 13-3 with a 2.11 ERA along with 132 strikeouts in 115.0 career innings against them.  He tossed six scoreless frames with six punch outs against Washington back on April 11, and with Kyle Schwarber and Trea Turner both currently listed as day-to-day at the time of this publishing, he might not have to deal with two of their best hitters.

Dodgers -1.5 (-144)

If Betts is collecting multiple hits and Kershaw is punching out opposing hitters, chances are the Dodgers are playing well.  Los Angeles is riding a seven-game winning streak, and with Kershaw on the mound in this one, they have to feel good about their chances of making it eight wins in a row.  The Dodgers have a solid 23-18 record on the road, and Kershaw is holding opponents to a .228 average away from Dodger Stadium.  Their bullpen is also pitching well as of late, so adding the Dodgers -1.5 to this parlay makes some sense.

Juan Soto to record a hit (-240)

If Turner and Schwarber are both unable to play in this game, Juan Soto will have to step up.  Soto is putting together a great season with a .281 batting average and .839 OPS, and he has hits in each of the first two games of this series.  In addition, he has collected nine hits in his last seven games overall.  He is 0-for-4 against Kershaw in his career, but this seems like an ideal spot for him to pick up his first career hit against the great left-hander.
