Saturdays are for same game parlays. Everybody knows this. With that being said, this one may be a little bit wild. Maybe. At 4:15pm ET we’re all going to be tuning into Fox Sports 1 when the New York Mets take on the Philadelphia Phillies. There’s only one other MLB game in this time slot and this one is televised. It’s an obvious candidate for debauchery. The parlay I have is only 2 legs, which is sweet, but the last leg is a home-run prop. If you want (I am), you could take the parlay for .1 unit while also taking the first leg on its own for 1 unit. You’ll get to live the best of both worlds and who doesn’t want to do that?

Mets vs Phillies 1st inning correct score 0-0 (+105)
I did some digging and found out that the New York Mets haven’t scored in the first inning of a game since July 30. They’ve now gone 7 straight games without scoring in the first inning. That’s terrible. Today they get to face off with Ranger Suarez, who has given up only 5 earned runs in 43.1 innings of work this season. Good luck with that. On the flip side, Tylor Megill will start for the Mets and while he did give up a grand slam in the first inning of his last game, it was the first time all season anyone had scored on him in the opening frame. I like to call that a fluke. I couldn’t imagine taking these teams to actually score in the first inning, so I will do the opposite and say they won’t score a run in the first inning today.

Odubel Herrera to hit a home run (+490)
So this is where this thing goes off the rails a little but it’s not as bananas as it looks at first. Herrera led off yesterday but I think he will be back in his normal 7-hole today. Especially if Rhys Hoskins is back in the lineup. Obviously we don’t want Herrera leading off since it would catastrophic for this parlay if he were to hit a dinger in his first at-bat. He’s swinging a hot stick lately, hitting safely in 5 of his last 6 games, so he very well could be at the top of the order again. We can take that risk. Why not?
We want his at-bats to come against Tylor Megill, just not in the first inning. Megill has been good all season but lefties have hit a pretty healthy .277 against him this season. Random lefties like Ozzie Albies, Ender Inciarte and Omar Narvaez have all taken him yard this season. Why not Herrera today?
